I first went to Salsa Latina in 2009 when I lived nearby right after graduating college. I have always loved it but stopped going due to the neighborhood getting more seedy and parking being difficult to find. I am SO HAPPY they moved to New Scotland! So I returned with my family of 4 after 10 years of not going. On a Saturday around 5 we found parking less than a block away and were seated immediately. The music and decor are exactly what you’d want in a Mexican restaurant. Love that they’ve added some Peruvian choices and birria items. We had a medium mango house margarita, guacamole, kids chicken tenders, kids beef enchilada and fries, combo 10 with beef tamale/enchilada/1other thing I forgot and the carnitas tacos with rice and beans. All so delicious and fresh! I did. It expect my carnitas tacos to be sooooo filled with meat so I was very impressed. Also, sign up on their site and you get an immediate 10% off coupon which I believe also applied to my alcoholic beverage (which doesn’t always happen with discounts). Can’t wait to go back!

I found hair in my food 3 times during my last 2 dining experiences. The 1st time was about a month ago. It was actually in my dinner guests drink. We showed the waiter, he apologized and made her a new drink, water under the bridge. This time we go back there was a piece of hair in the tortilla chips. We're trying to be positive so we look at it as it's a complimentary item, we'll just make the waiter aware and ask for new chips, so we did. Our food comes out, I had a taco salad with chicken. Close to the end of the dish I see a hair within the chicken at the bottom. At this point I'm just over it all and ready to go. I was going to say something but my dinner guests hayes when I "cause a scene" in public so I agreed to let her "handle it" while I went to the restroom. She said she made the waiter aware of the issue and assured me it was handled. Not sure what she meant, I left it alone. At the least I expected the meal to be comped but no. In order to not "cause a scene" I paid, left and I WILL NOT BE BACK!

This has the best authentic Mexican Cuisine in Albany! We are so glad that they opened Salsa Latina on New Scotland Avenue. It brings real flavor to this side of town. The waitress is very nice and the food is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! This is our 2nd time coming to this restaurant and I honestly cannot wait for the 3rd and more. My husband and I ordered the seafood soup.... And it was PHENOMENAL!!! I wanted to savor and elongate my experience...so we purposely did not finish our soup and took the rest home. The freshly made corn chips and salsa... You can eat by itself... And let's not speak about the black bean soup... Perfection! I really hope this restaurant stays because it's needed! Very clean and comfortable atmosphere. *I literally just left Salsa Latina and rushed to give this review. Keep up the excellent work ... You have customers for life!

**If you find my review helpful, please click on the thumbs up 👍 icon - thank you!** What a LOVELY restaurant! We actually went to the neighborhood to visit another restaurant, which was closed...so we walked around until we stumbled upon this little gem 💎 😃 As soon as you walk in, you'll be struck by the bright, happy decor and the lovely, individually painted chairs. It's as if you've been instantly transported from Albany to a beach restaurant in Latin America! The food is delicious and the service is EXCELLENT - we had a happy and attentive waitress, and it was obvious that all the other staff were equally cheerful. Just a wonderful way to wind down the week - we went for dinner on a Friday. We HEARTILY recommend this wonderful restaurant! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Have eaten in the restaurant and enjoyed it but normally order takeout or delivery. Writing this because I am fed up with this place. Ordered a 1 burrito, 1 taco combo asking for no ranchero/red sauce. Food was delivered with Ranchero sauce on top. This has happened the last several times i have ordered takeout or delivery. Was given only two tablespoons of beans and that ended up being a blessing as they tasted like someone had mixed in cigarette ash. Chips given with queso dip and salsa were stale. They used to be really good but quality has declined immensely the last several months, super disappointed.
