Our first (and last) experience did not match the many positive reviews that are showing online for this place. The food we had was OK, especially as there isnât much competition for this type of food around here. Itâs not good enough for us to put up with everything else that made the meal unpleasant for us. The upfront seating, order taking, and serving the soup and salad were good, and seemed promising. It went downhill after the server, who is also the owner, hurriedly placed the entrees on the table after we had to move the soup and salad plates away to make room, and then she ran away without saying a word. None of this was a problem, as we were sympathetic to her plight, as the place was busy and she had a lot of people to serve, although weâd prefer a little less showing us her discomfort, and maybe a tiny smile or âenjoy your mealâ instead. That wouldn't have taken any more time, and little effort on her part. The food was lukewarm, and we were going to ask if she could warm the food up, but that would have required one of us to get up from the table to find her. As it turns out, she NEVER returned to the table. Finally, we went up to the register to pay. The owner/server came over with the bill, and asked how everything was. We mentioned that we were a bit disappointed that she never returned to the table, so we couldnât get more drinks, ask for the food to be warmed, get the bill, or anything else. We lost all sympathy when her response to our sharing our feedback with her was to mutter âOKâ while turning her head away and ignoring us. Listen, donât ask the question how everything was, and then disrespect your customer in such a rude and unprofessional manner if you donât want to hear the answer. If we wanted to have more pleasant and attentive service, be able to get more drinks and warm up our food, and not wait for our bill, we would eat at home. While weâre on this rant, if anyone is actually reading this, one last thing weâd like to share with the owner is that the place is quite dumpy inside and out. What is actually gross is the absolutely filthy pair of fabric "curtains" in front of the entrance to the bathrooms. You canât go in or of the bathrooms without having these curtains touching your skin or clothing. Overall, weâre just fed up with this type of business, esp. in the âhospitalityâ industry. We are sorry to hear that you are having difficulties in these hard times, costs are high, you canât afford or find employees, etc., but please note that times are tough for us and we work VERY hard for our business and money too, and we treat our customers a lot better. Instead of the constant âsupport your local small businessâ mantra, how about asking what your local small business can do to justify that support in return. Just...

Read moreWOW!!!!!!! I need to know why this incredible restaurant does not have lines out the door? People, get over there! TODAY! I do not have a share of this fine establishment but I sure wish I did. Let me begin. It is immaculate. I cannot stress this enough. Even the condiment bottles were clean. The prices are too good to be true. I hope that does not change. I have eaten in Thailand, San Francisco, and New York City. The Spoon And Fork in Auburn, NY is clearly better than all of them. This will be a regular weekly spot for me. My friend Danielle and I actually got sad that we were full because we wanted more. Every bit of the food and ingredients were fresh. Plating was beautiful. Chris, our host, was kind, concerned, and incredibly accomodating. So polite and sweet, he made us comfortable. I need to try everything on that menu and I am so excited to put myself in the hands of their Itamae to get some amazing sushi. Do not let this heaven on eartg become a statistic of the economy. Eat! Enjoy! ...
