When I arrived my group was already there, the waitress as soon as I sat down stated, "oh, I didn't know anyone else was coming, I just explained how this works, do you want me to explain it to you?" I was baffled and thought, Yes. Won't you be explaining it to all your customers? I was already hangry when I got there my stomach in full growl. I didn't know we're to cook our own food. Just so you know, The whole table must order one side of the menu or the other, you cannot combine. I would of preferred to try the soup, however, it was not happening. After we ordered the Korean BBQ items, the meats and the vegetables that we wanted were brought to us by a robot. Less steps for the waitress. However, several of us ordered zucchini and mushrooms, we received one mushroom cut into six slices, and six slices of zucchini for three of us to share. I thought to myself I'd eat that portion myself, not expecting to share it with two other people. "You can have more" they say, _this is just the first round." The meat had printed receipts stuck to the top of it, stating which type it was, those BPA receipts are toxic to touch let alone be stuck to our meat! I can point out some research to you. Some others ordered potato and garlic. It took 40 minutes to get the meats cooked in their dinner sized hot plate and then the waitress says, "let me turn up the heat to high." Shouldn't that be a starting point? Then we were able to cook the veggies that everyone ordered, which took another 20-30 minutes. Needless to say, we had cold meat and rice, while we waited for two pieces of mushrooms and zucchini. Some others had semi raw potatoes and garlic. What a treat. Thanks for lunch. I prefer someone to cook the food for me due to health issues, it's ready in less than 20 minutes. Maybe you might enjoy it for some very slow intimate dining, be sure y'all like the same thing. Oh and if you waste food they'll charge you $13+, so eat up...
Read moreWith so many amazing and positive reviews, I couldn't resist trying out this restaurant during my one day visit to Frankenmuth. The atmosphere was ultra modern and spacious with plenty of seating. My boyfriend and I chose the hot pot all you can eat but my hot pot was disappointing. Some of the vegetables that I ordered such as the lotus root and enoki mushroom did not moisten and properly cook in my Thai Tom Yum soup. Eventually my soup base began dissolving and losing its flavor and when I asked for more broth the server brought a tea pot that was not filled with Thai Tom Yum soup, I think it was just boiled water. This was so disappointing. I should have said something but it was busy and there were lots of customers that needed attention so I missed out on enjoying the all you can eat hot pot soup. There's an area in the restaurant with awesome complimentary sauces, kimchi, various toppings, and delicious desserts such as mini cake squares. I could tell that there were many happy customers that were really enjoying their meal at MI Pot Korean BBQ and Hot Pot. It's a super popular place and I'm certain that they'll be around for a long time. The cat robot is innovative and adds uniqueness to one's dining experience. Compliments to the owner for opening a Korean restaurant in Michigan's "Little Bavaria" that's...
Read moreCame to celebrate a birthday and this was their choice. This is the second time we came to a restaurant of this type. Both times were a disappointment. This is definitely not a place for children! Although they got a kick seeing the little robot deliver the meats and veggies. Nothing on the menu that was easy to serve except for noodles and rice. It was difficult to know how to cook the food and what flavor(s) to put in what meat. The meat that we ordered was paper thin except to the steak which was a bigger than the other types of meat. When you order your veggies and meats it was to accommodate the whole table so you are sharing everything with the rest of your family/ friends. If you have left overs anything the say they can charge you more for not eating it!! The amount of money we paid for each person and then having to cook it ourself is not style of dinning that I enjoy. If you like this then this is a place for you. Didn’t like it and if I have a choice will not return. Disappointed with the fact that cooking thin meat and having it stick to a grill was not fun. The waiter helped as much as he could but this kind of restaurant you need to know how to cook this type of food. NOT FOR ME! Especially at the prices...
