I came on a Monday night at 8 pm and was surprised there was still quite a bit of people waiting. First off the atmosphere here is modern and beautiful. Service was attentive and top notched, they explained everything to us well and told us how to cook eat type of meat. I tried out a load of different meats and here are my thoughts.
Iwagyu Kimchee - Flavors were on point and really good complement to break down all the fatty meat. (4.5/5)
Assorted Vegetables - A good addition of lettuce, carrots, and cucumbers to break down the fatty meats. (5/5)
Wagyu Beef Tartare - Amazing, it doesn't even taste raw. Had a creamy texture from the raw egg and was put together well. Even if you don't like raw things you'd still probably like this. (5/5)
Prime Thick Cut Filet - This is easily the best cut, probably why it's most expensive. Comes in big pieces that you can cut with scissors. Even if you overcook it the meat is so soft and tender. It melts in your mouth, a must get! (5/5)
Prime Kalbi Tips - Simple pieces of meats that were packed with melty goodness. Cooked fast and were super tender. Can't go wrong with. (4.5/5)
Full Blood Wagyu Short Rib - This was my second favorite out of what I had. High quality meat packed with flavor. (5/5)
Signature Thick Cut Wagyu Tongue - You can tell this is high quality but tongue just isn't my favorite. It has a bit of a tougher texture than the other meats but it was good. (3/5)
Seasoned Wagyu Beef - This tasted like an elevated bulgogi. Super soft and tender with slight sweet/salty flavors. Tasty! (4.5/5)
Chicken Karaage - Huge chicken pieces that were perfectly cooked. Loved the mayo sauce that it came with. (4/5)
Yuzu Cheesecake - Perfect ending to the meal. Wasn't overly sweet and you could kind of taste the yuzu. Delicious. (4.5/5)
Green Tea Ice Cream - I think they get this brought in from somewhere but it tasted good. Can't go wrong. (5/5)
Overall a grand experience for a special occasion. It's not cheap and for two you can easily rack up $200 to be pretty full. Meat quality is top notch so anything you order will most likely be good. Plan ahead since this place seems to get busy even for a weekday but totally worth at least trying once to experience the taste of high...
Read moreAs a food enthusiast, I've always been on the lookout for unique and delightful dining experiences. Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at iWagyu, a fusion grilling restaurant located in Rowland Heights, California. Specializing in Wagyu, with a diverse range of cuts and meat selections from Miyazaki to Kobe, iWagyu offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Here's my take on some of the mouthwatering dishes I tried:
🔥 Outside Skirt - 5/5 Last but not least, the Outside Skirt was a delightful surprise. This lesser-known cut of Wagyu had a robust, beefy taste that showcased the true essence of the meat. The fusion grilling twist incorporated smoky, spicy, and sweet flavors that harmoniously melded together. The result was an unforgettable taste sensation that lingered long after the meal was over.
🔥 Prime Short Rib - 5/5 The Prime Short Rib was nothing short of phenomenal. Expertly prepared, the Kobe beef boasted a rich, buttery flavor and a velvety texture. The fusion twist came in the form of a tangy, zesty marinade that perfectly complemented the natural flavors of the meat. Served alongside an assortment of grilled vegetables, this dish was truly a feast for the senses.
🔥 Top Blade (Flat Iron) - 5/5 The Top Blade, also known as Flat Iron, was a revelation. The marbling on the Miyazaki Wagyu was exquisite, ensuring a tender, melt-in-your-mouth sensation. The fusion of flavors was extraordinary, as the succulent meat was seasoned with a blend of spices that elevated the dish to a whole new level. The result? A gastronomic masterpiece that left me wanting more.
The iWagyu experience went beyond the delectable dishes. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, providing a cozy setting for a memorable meal. The attentive and knowledgeable staff ensured that every aspect of the dining experience was seamless, from the selection of cuts to the grilling techniques.
In conclusion, I highly recommend iWagyu for anyone looking to indulge in a luxurious fusion grilling...
Read moreWe finally checked out iWagyu in City of Industry and had such a good experience. It’s one of those places that really focuses on quality, both in their ingredients and service.
We ordered hot tea, and Lulu made sure it was always fresh and steaming hot. She refilled it throughout the meal without us even having to ask. Since it was pretty cold inside, the tea really hit the spot.
We went with the Chef’s Recommendation option on the menu, and it didn’t disappoint. It came with a beautiful selection of A5 wagyu, including ribeye, chuck roll, brisket, etc.. Each cut had rich marbling and its own unique flavor and texture. They also included some prime US beef cuts, so you get a nice balance of richness and flavor. The set came with dipping sauces, sides like kimchi and pickled cucumbers. It also came with Ishiyaki Negi Wagyu Bibimbap.
What we really appreciated is they don’t just drop off the meat. They explain what each cut is, how to cook it, and what to pair it with. The wagyu practically melts as soon as it hits the grill. Super tender, buttery, and rich without being overwhelming.
We ended the meal with two desserts, the Yuzu Cheesecake and the Mango Ice Cream. Both were light, refreshing, and a great way to finish off such a flavorful dinner.
Our server Lulu was amazing from start to finish. She was incredibly attentive, always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Not only was she friendly and easy to talk to, but she also made the experience more enjoyable with her warm and welcoming personality. She cooked the meats for us at the table and asked how she liked it. It really felt like she wanted us to have the best experience possible. Her attention to detail and genuine hospitality truly elevated our visit and made...
