4.5/5 ### ChaHalo: A Fresh Take on Milk Teas in Rowland Heights
I recently stumbled upon ChaHalo during a weekend drive through Rowland Heights, and it quickly became my new go-to spot for bubble tea. Located at 17823 Colima Road, this cozy shop has a modern, inviting vibe with clean lines, plenty of seating, and a menu that emphasizes high-quality, fresh ingredients. What sets ChaHalo apart is their commitment to using premium tea leaves in their milk teas, resulting in drinks that are flavorful, balanced, and far from the overly sweet, artificial-tasting options you find elsewhere.
I started with their Rock Oolong Milk Tea, which was an absolute standout. The oolong leaves are steeped fresh, giving it a rich, bold aroma that's earthy and slightly roasted, without any bitterness. Mixed with creamy milk and just the right amount of sweetness (I went for 30% sugar always can add more), it felt like a sophisticated upgrade to classic milk tea. The boba pearls were perfectly chewy, adding that satisfying texture. Next, I tried the Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea, infused with delicate floral notes from osmanthus flowers. It's light yet fragrant, with the tea's natural freshness shining through – no overpowering syrups here. The jasmine undertones in their Jasmine Green Milk Tea were equally impressive; it's refreshing and milky, with a subtle green tea bite that tastes like it was brewed moments before serving.
Service was friendly and efficient, even during their soft opening phase, and the prices are reasonable for the quality – around $5-7 per drink. I've been back twice already, and each time the consistency in freshness and taste has blown me away. If you're in Rowland Heights craving authentic, good-tasting fresh tea leaf milk teas, ChaHalo is a must-visit. Highly recommend for tea enthusiasts looking for something genuine...
Read moreThis is not your typical review, usually a review is your opinion after trying it. However, the service was so awful we didn't even get to try it. Upon entering the store, we noticed that it was very humid and crowded. When we tried ordering at the front, the cashier told us that we could only order from a kiosk at the front of the store. The line was already pretty long and there was only ONE kiosk, so we decided to leave. There also wasn't that much to look at or enjoy, it was too crowded and pretty loud. It was also understaffed. Maybe I would come back another time to try again, but it won't be...
Read moreI tried the Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea at ChaHalo, and it was amazing! The oolong tea had a smooth, rich flavor with a nice floral aroma from the osmanthus—fragrant but not overpowering. The milk blended perfectly, making it creamy and refreshing without being too sweet. You can really taste the quality of the tea base. The staff were friendly, and the drink came out quickly and beautifully presented. Definitely one of the best milk teas I’ve had in a while — highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a balanced,...
