We used to like this place in the past. After we moved farther from this side of the town, we stopped going there. Either our tastes have changed or their food prep has changed, but this time around, the food wasn't as great as it was before.
We ordered Oyako Don, Bento (chicken), and a sushi boat deluxe. The oyako don was normal like other places. However, the bento was not as good. It's been my experience that over here, the meat is almost overcooked and burned (beef or chicken). This of course makes the meat dry and chewey, especially for the beef. If you want to know a place that cooks great meat for a bento, try Daifuku in Diamond Bar.
The miso soup was a bit too salty for my taste, but I understand that's based on personal preference. I've been to other restaurants where the miso was prepared very well.
One change I do not like is the fact that they no longer allow you to make reservations on weekends for any times after 6:30pm. They used to let you do it, but I assume that caused issues for them. Rather than just not take reservation, I personally think they should just charge a reservation fee for those who really need to make a reservation (ie. when you have kids with you and you can't afford to wait...

After a long day at work, sitting through traffic, we finally arrived at Kamon. My first thoughts when we walked in, "This place smells weird....in a bad way... ew." After awhile, I guess I got used to the smell -_-. We were seated at the sushi bar because we were too hungry to wait for a table.
I'm not sure how we were suppose to order there but, no one gave us a menu for a good 10 minutes I had to flag a waiter down for one. I guess we are suppose to order sushi from the sushi chefs and regular items on the menu through the waiter? However, there is not list of sushi options because their specials on the wall!!! How am I suppose to know what they have or not? What if I wanted a roll instead of sashimi?! -_-

Unfortunately the service now is terrible to say it lightly. Took over 1 hour to get food which we ordered online 30 minutes prior. During the wait. I’ve seen other customers being sat without being served, a father and son who walked out upset and people waiting to be sat for more than 30 min. Now I took the Covid Protocols in mind, but not to be approached or asked if they can be of service for 20 min is quite upsetting. The only reason I got my food is when I approached the Manager (Kevin) and requested for a refund. There were no apologies given for the wait time or any courtesy given for the customers patiently waiting.
