Cozy, warm and comfortable. The food is excellent and consistent. Always fresh, nothing is ever stale or reheated. Proportions are generous. The food being good is not what makes this place alone, service and attention to detail are at its best. They have their own coffee and butter (delicious). The environment is mixed crowd gentrified, young to old every ethnicity. People friendly place. Jazmin is a host/Mgr. I think, but she is awesome and makes a moment to make sure everyone is ok and comfortable. She is personable and when not busy will engage in intellectual conversation and answer questions about the establishment. The decor is gentrified (older folks bohemian/SOHO feel), somewhat artsy, music is never loud. Live artists play and sing in the establishment while dining. I highly recommend to visit this place. Do not let the stigma of City of Newburgh keep you from visiting. The place is deceiving from outside especially in the winter because the windows get foggy and the coat rack by the window is a throw off. A visit here is well worth the trip to dine. No riff raff at this spot what so ever.
I’m originally from Manhattan born and raised upper west side and dined and dine every kind of establishment in the boroughs you can think of. This place is everything aforementioned above and at a great price point also. They take most major cards and cash. Not open late. Once you go in you might forget...
Read moreThis place is great! My wife and I like to try different coffee shops as often as we can. and this place did not disappoint.
Their coffee is great, the atmosphere is awesome, and the staff is super friendly. Didn't have any food, as we ate before we went, but their food looks amazing (HAVE to try the chicken and waffles nexr time I go!), and their pastries are fresh and tasty. We just had doughnuts to go with the coffee, which is delicious and well prepared.
We got the kids hot chocolates, which they loved and were made with oat milk, as well as my wife's latte, as they're lactose intolerant. Makes it even better .
Great art on the wall (which is for sale), and they have their own coffee roaster! As a coffee fanatic, I have to go back if only to buy their coffee. It wasn't set up yet, but was told they'd have it up and running by next week.
It was slow when we went in, as we had JUST missed a huge crowd. Glad, cause not only did we get to sit, but we got to have good conversation, too. Glenn is cool, as well as everyone else there.
Definitely worth the 45 minute drive. We'll go back soon to eat and get their coffee! Dope neighborhood spot. We were glad to support a local business. We need more places like this one. It's on our...
Read moreBased on the rave reviews, I was expecting huge things and was supremely disappointed.
First, if you're unfamiliar with Newburgh, it's in a rough area with little parking. The inside aesthetics just seem confusing, with an old antique café style couch mixed with portraits of Chance the Rapper on the wall and for some reason a chessboard on one of the largest tables. Nothing really made any sense.
Second, I ordered the egg & cheese plate, avocado, bacon, iced coffee, turkey sausage, and fruit bowl. The scrambled eggs were literally just scrambled eggs with a slice of Kraft singles mixed in. The avocado was just scooped out and plated. The fruit was pulled out of their plastic containers. The bacon was decent, but was far too skinny. The turkey sausage was some sort of weird patty shape that wasn't great and the coffee was nothing special either.
To be fair, everything was relatively cheap, but not really worth actually leaving your kitchen for. I'm willing to bet that 9 out of 10 people are capable of making all this food on their own, but actually taste better. The staff was super friendly, so that should be noted.
Ultimately, I can't comprehend how this place has such...
