Additional information on July 26 2025: this is an addendum to my oroginal posting. Delicious lasgna. Excellent flavor, presentstion and taste. 5 stars!
This is a great place in a small town. Have been several times so giving and overall review for the several times been.
The menu changes weekly. Which is great. Keeps it interesting and fresh. They have the pastries from sister bakery Laaoson Blanche. Always excellent pastries. This is a really nice addition to this small town's food offerings.
First visit: laid back atmosphere, quite busy weekend night. Had the squash blossom soup (excellent, sweet side with hont of spice from the peppers used) the spicy lamb and rice. The lamb and rice was great, a little under seasoned on salt which is perfectly acceptable as can always add vs an over salt. Tender lamb. Fluffy rice. Lamb in a spiced sauce that was favorable but not overly spicy at all. Soft pita bread. Field salad included wothbchoice of dressing. Meh on salad as it's salad. Ginger dressing divine though.
Second visit: soup and the bruschetta for a weeknight dinner. Bread for brichetta from bakery, crispy exterior, soft interior soaking the tomato and balsamic. Nice hints of fresh mozzarella. Wish had a bit more mozzarella but I am a cheese lover. The soup was a veggie lentil. Light and brothy, not like most deeper lentil soups or stews. Veggies cooked well but not overcooked.
Third visit: dumplings appetize (sorry no pic) which were commericalade it seemed from look but tasted very nice and crispy from the light fry they received. Dipping sauce was a spy based. Simple and frankly a bit underwhelming for me. Needs something in the spicy realm for these and a hint of sweetness to cut the froed dumplings and balance. Basically was soy and a bit of green onion, maybe a drop of sesame oil. Tried the paparadelle and meat sauce. It had andouille sausage in it. Found that odd. Would have preferred a straight sauce. Noodles were cooked fine, not overly so. Sauce was meaty and the tomato flavor was good. I could have done with just a hint more sweetness to balance the acid of the tomato. Overall a decent meal. Finished and took home a chocolate torte thing filled with cream. Very nice.
Service: very nice servers here. Care about customers. Check on them but not hovering every 5 minutes. Good suggestions. Was kind my last time as the original desert had chosen was a bit dry so was happy to exchange for me. Made me happy and I am happy to go back and patronize again. Be aware that because things are made fresh it might be a slightly longer wait for food. It's worth it.
Atmosphere: nice, without being fussy. Big moon in ceiling this the "moon". Has booths, tables. Appears to be handicap accessible for the most part. Have not used restroom so...
Read moreWhile on our way through Norwich as we headed to a concert, we stopped for dinner at Bohemian Moon. We took a chance via Google searching -- like you're doing now -- and decided to give the place a chance. WOW, were we delighted! The decor was quirky and interesting; we were made to feel very welcome as though our business was appreciated; the food was outstanding. There were three of us, and we tried the Honey Apple Brie appetizer (delicious!), the mozzarella salad (with fresh basil leaves grown at the restaurant), the kale salad (really interesting dressing) and the watermelon/tomato salad (unique and a total treat for our taste buds). As our main courses, we had the mozzarella ravioli, the stuffed chicken and the scallops & linguini -- all of which were truly divine. What started as a pit stop during a long drive through the countryside became a memorable evening at a place to which we hope to return -- my parents live 2.5 hours away, and said the restaurant was so worth the drive that they'd be glad to drive up this way again. We cannot recommend Bohemian...
Read moreFor spending $170 for a meal for 4 in Norwich, NY, I expected to have a completely different experience than the one I had. The customer service was among the worst I’ve ever had. The waitress barely knew what she was doing. We asked her what the beer options were and she said she didn’t memorize the menu. We asked what the best dishes were and she said everything, before reading down the menu the new items this week. What takes the cake though is the whole experience with undercooked steak. We told the waitress the steak was undercooked, and she told us the chef just left for the night (what chef leaves as people are just getting their meal?), and didn’t offer to rectify the situation in any way. The absolute gross part of the night though was the interaction with the owner. She came out to meet us and mentioned hearing the steak was undercooked. You’d think she’d follow that up with a remedy for the situation right? Her answer to that…”I’ll teach the waitress how to cook.” Worst customer service ever. Will never get another...
