Delforno's Market Place & Catering — Restaurant in City of Poughkeepsie

My family and I have been patronizing this deli for years and I feel it time I share my experiences and hopefully inform more people about this gem rather than keep it all to myself 😉.

This past weekend was no different as it was my mom‘s 80th birthday. We picked up trays of broccoli rabe, penne à alla vodka, chicken marsala and sausage and peppers. All I can say is every single bit of food was beyond delicious. We had about 20 people at the party and I had to give the phone number and address to no less than 10 people as they were so impressed with the quality and taste of the food.

The owner was even kind enough to let us use their insulated carrying case for all the food to keep it nice and hot. Ann and her son do a fabulous job with anything we’ve ever ordered from them… It feels like they’re cooking for family as the devotion and care they put into their dishes definitely shines through.

The store is very nicely stocked with plenty of Italian brand products and lots of pre-prepared food that you can take home and heat up when short on time but want a good meal. Their deli sandwiches are also beyond anything you could possibly hope for. They are light years ahead of anyone else in the Hudson Valley… And believe me I’ve tried lots of places.

Again, I just wanted to share my experience with this establishment as I really think it’s a hidden gem that needs to be discovered by more people

My family and I will continue having our events catered by DelForno‘s…..Definitely a must if anyone is in the area and wants a good sandwich or needs an event catered. I normally do not take the time to write reviews unless I am blown away by either how good or how bad a place is. Definitely five stars for this establishment and a must for anyone in the neighborhood...

I love their New England Clam Chowder. Tasting it makes me remember being at Martha's Vineyard. The taste is always consistent, I always know what to expect. Also, it always tastes fresh. It fact, all of Delforno's prepared food always looks fresh. The garlic spinach is yummy too!

I've also done some grocery shopping there as well. I love, love, love olive oil and the brands they carry are the best.

One more thing I must say, at Delforno's, everyone is always friendly and helpful and not just the owner and employees but other people shopping as well. You really feel like part of the community...
