Mega Kone — Restaurant in City of Rensselaer

Decided to try this new place in the Rensselaer area. We noticed they didn’t have a concrete menu, but some hand written items on paper, and a list of various Perry’s hard ice cream flavors. I am usually not a fan of places serving overpriced outside brands and not their own in house items. As another reviewer mentioned, $5.25 for a scoop of Perry’s ice cream, where you can get a whole tub at the supermarket, is a bit expensive. Also they don’t offer any milkshakes.

We ended up getting the pistachio hard ice cream, brownie sundae with vanilla soft serve, and a strawberry soft serve cone. The pistachio ice cream had some black lint in it, which they later replaced it with a brownie sundae. The brownie on the bottom of the sundae was really hard, like stall brick hard, and it was really difficult to dig into with the plastic spoon. I forgot the brownie was even in there till I almost finished the soft serve and toppings. The strawberry soft serve lacked flavor, creaminess, and overall not great.

Nice place with a parking lot so you can pull right up.

Talked out my sundae order and the results were amazing. My new go-to spot when I get a craving for soft serve ice cream. Cant wait to come back.
