My waitress was on the phone often before and after I placed my order she didn't listen well enough to correctly place my order . I ordered the Chicken breast sandwich with lettuce she told me it came plain and it would be extra I said fine. The sandwich comes with a bag of potato chips and a 1/4 slice of a pickle. I also ask her for a side of fries she said it would be extra I said fine . At this point I was getting a little annoyed with her because I'm being reminded of paying extra instead of her actually listening to me place my order. When I was served my order I notice my potato chips were still on the counter I ask her for them she said it would be extra apparently she somehow thought I substituted fries instead of chips when I wanted to simply add fries once again I said its fine ill take them. My chicken breast sandwich was less than a half inch think with a good length to it whice was fine . But the grill marks burned deep in the very thin breast piece leaving a strong carbon taste. Grill marks are usually seared Not press and deeply embedded in the meat I Also didn't get the lettuce I requested. I told the waitress I didn't get lettuce on the sandwich she offered to go back and get it . I told her no don't worry about it its fine . She went in the back talking to a cook anyway I told the cook the lettuce was not necessary he listen thank goodness. My friend that arrived there with me had no issues. I felt that I was treated differently but because I was different. And being reminded about what an item cost instead of just taking your order is embarrassing . Assumptions and predicated order taking is not good policy. Its better to just listen. Date of service April 6th...
Read moreWhat could have been a great experience was a terrible one. Sooo Let Me tell Yall About My 1950's Civil rights movement Experience when I Went here this morning !!!! (only because my now deceased uncle would always tell me I should try this place).....When I Walked in I was greeted in an almost annoyed voice by 2 older Women. One sat me down While referring to her coworker to come serve me.....her facial expression told it all for me. So I finally start to order after she'd come back "You know what u want yet?" I asked "what comes on the French toast"...she proceeded to Roll her eyes and Say "Ummm Butter & syrup "......i Kindly Got Up and said....Thanks anyway. And i proceeded to leave! It wasn't About What was Said. It was the Matter and demeanor and your lack of customer service Miss Colleen. I PROMISE I Won't Spend my Green Dollars Where Brown Faces Are Still An Obvious issue for just patronizing the place. Yet want people to eat there smh. Customer Service wasn't good. Please retrain staff on how to deal with a diversity in backgrounds...
Read moreGood food good price, clean, friendly. "Cattleman's special" = best steak and eggs in rochester. Been going there 30 years, can't remember when it wasn't there. Perfect classic diner before the remodel, taller booths then, upholstered like a library, the little juke boxes on the table, the desserts in the glass thing, always open. Still retains the soul of a great diner, comfort food, big portions, charming waitresses, toothpicks and mints at the register. Brighter now, more open. Not as garish as jays, or pretty as highland, but still awesome in its own way, as much for its history as its breakfasts and lunch. Sadly, the new short booths that force you to see and hear your neighbors conversations, the abbreviated hours, and the tiny bathroom(gentlemen's, i haven't seen the ladies) prevent me from...
