This area in Brighton is one of my favorites. The beautiful trails that wind through the Forrest are ideal for walking with friends and family. Additionally, the trails are well maintained, and clearly marked so no one can get lost. The area may seem small, but you can spend hours exploring the woods.
One of the best part is the old water towers. The giant metal structures are covered with graffiti, some of which is very well made and shows the artistic talent of people. In recent years, holes have been cut into the sides of the tanks that allow your to explore inside (you used to have to go in a really small hatch in the tanks). Read morebest little hidden natural treasure in the city. old growth oak trees and glacial kettles. many people who have lived in the area their whole life dont know about it. watch out for ground bees! they arent generally aggressive, but will sting without being provoked in the spring if you are too close to their nest. be aware
if you head generally north on the trails you will eventually come to the water towers completely painted by local artists. they are a very interesting juxtaposition to the natural beauty. the compositions are always changing too.
pick up any trash that you see, as it’s not managed by the county parks dept. and if you walk your dogs here, keep them on a leash and clean...

I loved hiking the network of trails, surrounded by beautiful, tall, Oaks. There are some hills, so one can get a nice workout. I followed the trails up to the old water towers and enjoyed the very cool murals and grafitti, very interesting to check out.
