Kithnos Seafood Market — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I give this place 1 star as im unable to give them anything less. My family and I have come here for over 30 years and today marks my final visit. After ordering a half lb of scallops and a fish dinner I arrived for my pick up and after reviewing the food it was, as to be specific, prepared in beer batter versus cornmeal. On the phone the youngman did not specify and assumed it was to be prepared in beer batter style. I stated at the checkout oh, this is prepared in the manner which I've previously stated it was and he said "that's what you ordered, and without anything else moved toward the cash register as to assume further that i was going to accept what was in front of me. I then opened the to go carton to further examine the meal and noticed the fries appeard overcooked, and the beer battered fish was even MORE less appealing than I'd momentarily contemplated purchasing and then consuming. Upon inspection I decided to decline the fish meal and move forward with the purchase of the scallops and the two drinks I had in tow. Then he said well what am I suppose to do with that? I told him that I would purchase the other items however that isn't what I want. He removed all the food and drinks and said "That's fine, don't ever come back". I am business onwer myself and have had to essentially eat 1000's of dollars on a single job bc an employee of mine did not do the job to scope which is of no fault of the customer who contracted with me to have the work done based on what they wished for and I would NEVER talk to, treat or give any excuse to a customer who is spending their hard eqrned dollars with me. This place just left an awful taste in my mouth and has stained their reputation of that which I would share anytime asked here and after. Upon visiting this restaurant having been a customer for many years prior. My food was prepared differently than I had anticipated. After reviewing the fish, prepared in beer batter versus cornmeal, I got the initial instinct that the youngman at the checkout was essentially attempting to force me to purchase it after sharing what id wanted. Reviewing the meal again, the fish looking more displeasung, i realized the fries seemed over cooked and decided to purchase only the other items ordered. Then the cashier replied what am I suppose to do with that , I stated it's not what I want and I'd gladly pay for the other dishes, shrimp/scallops and two drinks I brought to the counter. Angrily he snatched all the food away and said "Don't come back" . I let him know i would never, then turned and walked out of the store. Being a business owner I could NEVER treat a customer that way. His rude antics, just aren't the way things should be done in any business climate, however acknowledging people often work hard for their money and even if they do not it's customers which make our business. I give them 1 star only bc I'm unable to give zero. I have shared this experience since with other business partners who have vowed never to return. My advice treat people kindly and with respect. Responding in anger, in general probably isnt a good way however during a transaction of business can damage or even bankrupt the currency of your flow. #bad fish. The highlight is there's a New Place ive found which IS amazing and as NOT to associate the name of their business with this one, i will allow those who read to do a search on Google. Awesome as matter of fact I do not care for Salmon, but just made his for lunch & I UT was delicious just butter crisp up skin added lemon +2 tbsps water, let poach in lemon butter & and water keeping below the crisped skin, not at all fishy taston taste and did not have that salmon fish taste that I don't like when you get it not real fresh I've even tried that vacuum pack Ice Frozen right away and it does not compare to his salmon which I don't normally eat this is only the V time I tried salmon, first time someone grilled it was terrible, that fishy salmon taste second time in a restaurant was macadamia nut encrusted that was delicious third time made myself from supposedly fresh immediately Frozen vacuum facts it was horrible the next two times was from Kinko's and both ways I cooked it it was absolutely delicious cuz it was so fresh it did not have that taste , the grouper was out of this world oh, the haddock was so fresh I just put a little butter and lemon slices on it and micro.
