Lakeside Haven Family Restaurant — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I've been coming here since forever. I was sketchy because new owners and I overheard them saying to the table next to us that they never have owned a food business. We were seated, and brought coffee the only complaint I have was that the silverware we had was not very clean and when I received my order it was not what I expected. The waitress could tell by the look on my face and asked me what was wrong so I told her. Sorry but if I'm going to go out and pay for a meal I want to be sure it's what I want and depending how they handle the situation if I be back or not. So the waitress went to get the owner I believe Karin. Maybe she was having a bad day but she wasn't very friendly, her husband on the other hand apologized up and down for her reaction and for the food being incorrect. He offered to make it right and he did when I went to cash out his wife called him over and asked him why I was receiving a discount, he explained that's the right thing to do. She sat there and said "Well you fixed her order, so why again are we giving her a discount"? This immediately turned me off and I was thinking is this really happening especially in front of the customer! I mean if you want returning cust then you do whatever it takes to make it right. We stopped in for breakfast. It seemed busy from the parking lot. But, when we went inside, we were able to get seated right away. It took us awhile to decide what we wanted, there is a big menu to choose from. I went with the Florentine Eggs Benedict. My partner got Sausage Biscuits and Gravy with poached eggs and Berry Berry Short stack with coffee. Our adult sized child order Texas Toast French Toast with Hot Chocolate and sourdough toast. We also shared a short stack of Banana Walnut pancakes. We all truly enjoyed our food and we will definitely come back. The staff was very kind and the camaraderie with their regular customers was nice to see. We even witnessed a security guard sitting alone at a table offering customers that came in a seat with him so they didn't have to wait. Very much gave the family vibe inside these doors. 9 month update

After being a regular customer, I'd raise my review if I could. They've only gotten better. I walk in, whole resturaunt is packed, and my food still comes out in 10 minutes. It's unreal, they make the simplest, just... Pure food. No gimmicks, and their menu is nice and cheap, easy, and filling. If you just want a good breakfast or lunch, nothing fancy or over-the-top, with pleasant, talkative staff, read a newspaper, watch the movie they have on (nothing but the good stuff), you'll like it here. Only after 3-4 times coming in, they know our drinks every time. They are so incredible at running a restaurant idk how any other one could compare now. Theyve ruined my experience everywhere except there, and that's the only downside I can think of. Definitely, please give them your business. You will...
