Latino's Paradise — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I used to religiously order every MWF for oxtails but I just cannot recommend this restaurant anymore. I used to order for convenience, but now their policy is only to give four oxtail pieces for a $17 dollar large, and sometimes I don't even get that. I order with yellow rice, I get white rice. I order stewed pork, I get pork shoulder.

I know they give MUCH larger portions in person, and I only live twenty minutes away, so I decide to walk there. I get there and after being ignored for fifteen minutes by the young girl behind the counter, she manages to communicate to me that they won't have oxtails for another hour. (My spanish is abysmal and I didn't know how to tell her I was hard of hearing and I needed to see her mouth, and she was juuuust short enough that the hood on the counter covered the lower half of her face. That's not her fault, but MAN was it frustrating)

I try to tell her I don't mind ordering for later, but I have consistent issues with them messing up my food and giving me half portions. Unfortunately, she couldn't understand and reiterated that they have chicken and pork. I left with nothing.

Amazing food. Good price/. 4/25/24. I’m adding to my review. The last 3 times I went to Latino Paradise I have not seen the regular lady who runs the place with the glasses. I don’t know if the establishment has new owners and when you ask you get vague answers. But I do know the house salad dressing is not the same !!! The prices have almost doubled and also when you ask about the prices the answers are vague. Now. The food is I’m not going to say bad but definitely different. I really like the pig feet but when I got it last week it wasn’t really good. It had a strange coloring and the taste was very different. Genuinely who could possibly give this less than 4.8 stars? This is the best, most flavorful latin food you’ll find in Rochester, period. I’ve also been to cocina latina and it’s simply underwhelming compared to here. I can only imagine the poor reviews are 1) ghetto city people that feel entitled to everything, and think of stellar service as “the bare minimum” or 2) people that are mad that there’s a wait time.
