Tangie's Kitchen — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I’ve visited this place a few times now, wanting to support small black owners businesses. Good is good, however customer service isn’t. I called the order in a head of time understanding that due to the pandemic we won’t be able to go inside. Got to the establishment and waited in line for over a half hour. There’s no speaker to take your order, you have to wait until you get to the window. When it was finally our turn I gave them my name for the order and they told us they sold our food. We explained that we waited for over 30 minutes and the owner comes to the window explaining that they don’t take orders over the phone. She went back to see if there greens left and long story short she sent someone else to the window to say that they pretty much ran out of the food we ordered originally. I left a review on a post on facebook about Tangie's Kitchen. Not a bad review just how the last few times the staff were rude and had attitudes. She didn't have to but she reached out to me to apologize AND told me to come back on her. And to bring a friend. Me and my husband went today after church. It was a friendly environment and she was even in the front helping with orders and serving. I will definitely reconsider returning with family and friends! Hubby almost ate the container and kept raving about the peach cobbler! Everything was DELICIOUS! Thank you Tangie Hannah for the hospitality. The food taste even better when its served with a lil Love! Update: We returned a few days later and the food was still delicious we had banana pudding and lemon cake. Sooo good, my husband eat the rest of the pudding I was saving for later, I almost cried! Go try it...

I used to consider Tangies as a treat for myself every so often but after yesterday, never again. The customer service is awful and the young skinny black girl serving the food had the nastiest attitude when I was asking if there was anymore Roast, collard greens or yams in the back. I get the same thing EVERY TIME I go. They weren’t in the Least bit accommodating. And the damn owner acted like she didn’t know what was left inside her own restaurant. She wasn’t even willing to tell the cooks to prepare what I wanted and it was 2 hours before they closed. Never going back. I’ll spend my money elsewhere and make sure tell people to do the same!?
