Skip this place and go elsewhere for "typical" Chinese food. There has to be better, more traditional Chinese food around. The apps--BBQ Ribs and Fried Dumplings were very good. The Hot and Sour Soup was unusual. I've never had it with carrots and celery and without black mushrooms, a basic ingredient of this soup. It was a good soup only if you didn't think you were having Chinese Hot and Sour Soup. The Kung Pau Chicken was made with mixed vegetables, not authentic; the peanuts were merely sprinkled on top, not cooked in the wok as they should be; and, the chicken pieces were lightly breaded, deep fried and tasted very salty. Odd preparation! The Orange Beef was heavily breaded, deep-fried, greasy and gummy on-the-tongue with barely an orange taste. I ordered online and specified the soup Medium Hot, The Kung Pan Chicken and Orange Beef as Extra Hot, but none of the three requests made it into any of the dishes. Each had absolutely no spiciness! Why ask customers how spicy they'd like their dinner choices if you aren't going to honor what they specify??? The service was fast and personable but, typical-tasting authentic Chinese...
Read moreI am not sure what the deal is, but they are still serving dinner combinations for $9 and change with tax included in May 2025 👀.
I have had the chicken with garlic sauce combination 4 times. And if you are a chicken with garlic sauce fan, you know they are not all created equal. This one is fire 🔥 (pun intended). It's exactly the same each time I get it. And they follow through on my veggie preferences no problem. You can ask for the spice level you want. The pork fried rice is fantastic as you would hope and expect from Chinese takeout. Same with the veg egg roll and the shrimp egg roll. I've also had the bourbon chicken combo, which was very good, and hard to find outside of a food court chinese place.
Very quick service. Everything is hot and fresh and reasonable priced. I have family coming into town. I'm going to suggest this place for a gathering we will have. I'm excited to try more menu items.
As far as the atmosphere, it's pretty typical of what you would expect of a Chinese takeout place-there's no seating to eat in. There's a couple seats to sit if you need to wait...
Read more1 of my top Chinese food restaurants in Rochester. The other place is kinda far away in Penfield, great for that side of town. Centrally located, not too far out of the way for the university community.
But the food… 🤌🏽 vegetable egg rolls are so well seasoned; they allow you to customise your spiciness if you like a little 🔥 pictures are theirs, not stock photos, and accurately show what you’re going to get. General Tso’s chicken is a staple and they’ve mastered it. Quality chicken; so good. The bourbon chicken is sooo flavourful. I’m excited to work my way through the menu. Great online system, never had a problem ordering in person or over the phone. Atmosphere isn’t dine-in quality but I think that’s what allows them to deliver well-made food. Very excited to expand my palette a bit & try more of their menu like the black pepper chicken. I’m telling you, their photos really help; Try more things...
