Dippin Donuts — Restaurant in City of Rome

Seems like the service here has declined dramatically over the last 6 months or so.

I came in and there was one customer in front of me, so I waited, and waited…and waited…and…well you get the idea. I get that when a place is busy immediate service is not reasonable. However, even when slammed busy in the past - the staff would at least acknowledge me. Didn’t happen today.

I wasn’t in a rush, so waiting wasn’t a real irritant. I felt worse for guy in front of me - he got his sandwich and then stood waiting and waiting. Only after 4-5 minutes did the girl covering the drive through ask if he was missing something. He said he didn’t get his coffee and she quickly resolved the issue.

I waited for my sandwich (very patiently, I might add) and was glad to get, but it wasn’t what I ordered. She made me a bacon, egg, and cheese; what I ordered was ham, egg, and cheese. Since I had to wait quite a while I just ate it.

The good things about DD is that their coffee is excellent, their donuts are, too. And finally their breakfast sandwiches are VERY tasty as well.

If you’re in a rush, I would avoid DD, but if you have time to kill - it could be...

We stopped in for the first time on a Tuesday afternoon around 2pm. Wasn’t busy by any means and the cashier was rushing us, having been our first time and being new to the area we wanted to check out every thing they offered but we felt like we couldn’t. Chose 6 donuts and I got an iced coffee. The donuts tasted old and the coffee was disgusting. UPDATE* Tried again recently and the donuts tasted like straight baking soda and again, the coffee was wretched. Will not...

I HATE mornings , but when I walk into this establishment I see nothing but positivity , great energy and found myself looking forward to seeing the employees at the Rome location every morning . They have my coffee ready before I even walk in !! Great work to Brittany and everyone else , you are all assets to this business and I’m proud and happy to stop by every morning to contribute . Here is to 1000 more coffees...
