After spending $180 on dinner last night, I am reminded why we left before getting our food the last time we came here. Just as great as the food is, the service is as poor.
We walked in after doing a little bit, but not enough research on the hibachi places around us and decided to go to this restaurant because I remember the food being really good. I forgot, though they don’t have the traditional hibachi experience, which is my fault. When we arrived, we were taken aback because again, we forgot this place didn’t have live cooking tables ,but after discussing it, we decided that since we made the drive out there we would stay to eat. We were directed to take a seat at a specific table.
Our first interaction summed up the rest of our interactions for the night short/curt questions without any greeting or introduction and the need for constant reminders to the staff to bring things like water, napkins, and utensils between the two people that were staffed as waiters, we were sure who was taking care of us. It would be great if people don’t walk away from me midsentence and allow me to get my order out. I also wanted to order something to go and the waiter ”later later” As a restaurant of this magnitude that does to go/online orders can’t put in an order and bring me my food close to when we’re done eating. I felt like ordering food was a burden for them as opposed to making opportunity.
I also have an issue with the sushi rolls coming with different ingredients than those that are listed on the menu. Thankfully, I am not a picky eater nor do I have any allergies so I ate what was in front of me but that’s really dangerous If (as the sign on the door says) prices are not consistent with what the menu says, and the ingredients listed on the menu are inaccurate with how the food is ultimately prepared, why doesn’t a place that gets this much business and has food this good redo the menus? I also think they need to improve their drink options definitely more kid, friendly things that aren’t sodas but also perhaps a signature drink if you’re going to market yourselves as a steakhouse.
We were so displeased with the service and attitude that we rounded our bill to the nearest $10 and left the small remainder as the tip. I am pretty sure that they were aware of this because as soon as the waiter picked up the check (without saying bye, thank you for coming or acknowledging us, and after multiple request to pay the bill) there was a seemingly heightened discussion between the two after one saw how much we left for tip. Imagine our surprise when this morning when we got an alert that a higher dollar amount was charged to the card than what I wrote on the receipt.
After spending that much money on food that honestly will last us two days with the leftovers I’m so pleased with the food quality but enormously disappointed with the service and likely won’t be back, except to...
Read moreTraveled 36 miles by bike from Syracuse to Rome with two of my friends. We stopped at this restaurant excited to try it out. As we walked in, my first impression was that the staff was so sweet and welcoming. But things quickly changed. The waitress was a younger lady and did not pay any attention to what we ordered. We got different drinks and she placed the drinks in front of each person at the table that did not order that specific drink. Also, take note: we are all American’s and quite unfamiliar with the Japanese style food but still wanted to try it out. My friend ordered a bento box and there was no picture on the menu! He asked the waitress in detail about what a bento box was and then proceeded to tell her that is what he would like to order. I ordered a chicken hibachi dish and was excited to try it out. When the food came out the waitress gave my friend the chicken hibachi meal and he started eating it. I did not think anything of it because again she gave the dish to him and there were no pictures to show what he was going to be eating! Then about 5 minutes later the waitress came out with a box/tray meal and put it infront of me, it was then I realized that was not what I ordered since I got chicken, vegetables, and rice! So I went up and told her she misplaced everything and the manager came over and was very rude to my friend and said your eating her food and she asked him “are you going to keep eating it or what?” He said no he wanted what he ordered which was the bento box and I told her I want my chicken habachi and is that to much to ask for and that they can’t expect me to eat what he has already ate! So she said to him “give me the dish” and she gave him the bento box that I did not touch yet! So now the fact that they took the food he started off eating and brought it back to the kitchen made me uneasy to eat my meal because you could feel tension and none of this was our fault! The waitress should have been paying attention. It is her job, hello! The food in general tasted great, as they eventually brought out the supposedly new dish for me that I originally ordered. But in the end of this experience we felt very unwelcome and treated very poorly. This place has poor customer service and if you decide to come here just know as a customer you may be made to feel as though you are at fault in a situation where you should be...
Read moreI had an outstanding dining experience at Fuji Sushi Japanese Steakhouse, a delightful sushi and hibachi restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the warm and inviting ambiance. The attentive staff made sure my visit was memorable.
The sushi here is simply sublime. The fish is incredibly fresh for a town like this, and each roll is expertly crafted, bursting with flavor. I particularly enjoyed the Coney Island Roll, which was a perfect blend of textures and tastes.
The hibachi chicken was so good. It was perfectly seasoned, not dry, but tender. The vegetables it came with gave it a nice balance and crunch.
The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and they went out of their way to accommodate our preferences. The atmosphere was lively but not too noisy, making it ideal for both intimate dinners and group gatherings.
Overall, this place is a gem for sushi and hibachi lovers. Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or trying it for the first time, this restaurant offers a memorable dining experience with top-notch food and service. I can't wait to return and savor more of their...
