I had originally posted this review 2 years ago and gave them 5 stars. I have been a patron of this establishment for the last 5 years at least. Tonight however I am changing my review to one star, if I could go lower I would. I placed an order over the phone for 3 meals, the bacon cheeseburger was over cooked, my onion rings were burnt, I asked for them crispy which I know is hard to accomplish on a take out order, I'm a chef, so I get it. I could have gotten over this and chalked it up to a bad night. What really perturbed me however is that when I walked in to pick up my order, not a single person aknowledged me. The place was empty, the grill cook looked directly at me, made eye contact and stood there. The young woman who was on register was no where to be found. I stood there awkwardly for over a minute before she finally appeared with out a single person speaking. Isnt it company policy to at least say hello and that someone will ne right with me? I mean it is for the 500 seat restaurant I run. I supervise the kitchen but if I am out in the front of the house and see someone who has entered I greet them and either ask if I can help or tell them I will find someone who will. I get my food and my drinks and rake them to the car already aggravated over my treatment. I then proceed to the ice cream line. There was two people ahead of me. I stood there for 20 minutes waiting to be helped. It was 815 pm, I understand that the staff has cleanup and closing duties, however there was 4 employees back there amd a single person was taking orders and making ice cream. One was sweeping and another was pulling utensils to be cleaned. The other two were staring off into space. After waiting forever and thinking about the 50 dollar order in my car getting cold I'm finally helped. I order a medium soft vanilla in a dish with extra sprinkles on the side to go. I then ask for a brownie sundae, no whip cream, no nuts, and can you please put thw hot fudge on the side in a Styrofoam cup so it isnt all melted by the time I get home and am ready to eat it. The girl then tells me that they are not allowed to do that. So let me get this straight. I paid 50 dollars for 3 meals that are now cold from waiting so long amd when I make a simple request I am told no. I could understand if it was unreasonable but it was a simple request so that I could enjoy my sundae without being a melted mess by the time I ate it. As someone who has spent their entire life in this industry, I understand unreasonable customers. YOU ALWAYS GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO SATISFY THE CUSTOMER, THATS HOW YOU GET REPEAT BUSINESS. SADLY, YOUVE NOW LOST MINE. I suggest a staff meeting about how to greet customers, explain that they are the ones paying their salary amd to always try and be accommodating. Looks like I will take my weekly businesses to your competitors. Do better, this place has gone...
Read moreWas new to the area checking out local places and decided to pop in. The only word I can use to describe the overall experience is "awful".
The owner was rude, confrontational, and bizarrely aggressive after being asked for some extra empty sides containers after one of the staff members tossed my tray (with my receipt and order number) while I was filling a soda.
Despite my instinct to simply walk out and take the charge up with my credit card company I decided to satisfy my curiosity about what was advertised as "the best burger in the galaxy". It wasn't even the best burger on the block. The McDonald's directly across the street had more claim to this particular title.
The food was barely edible, with the sides being plain potatoes and pasta drenched in unseasoned mayo. The burgers I could best describe as "movie theater" quality, seeming to be unseasoned pre frozen patties quick grilled to an unapetizing grayish brown tossed somehow both dry and greasy at the same time, onto a soggy bun.
The mozzarella sticks defied physics, having simultaneously a char burned exterior and an cool, unmelted, solid lump of cheese in the middle.
The soda machine worked, so there's that.
If you want to be overcharged, underwhelmed, and yelled at give it a try. But given the amount of restaurants nearby, for the quality there's a lot cheaper, and for the price there's a lot better. And in neither scenario will you, a (over)paying customer, be yelled at for asking for a 5 cent Styrofoam cup, so ferociously guarded you'd think the dude brought his own from home, after one of the staff threw yours away.
Was my first time,...
Read moreHad a very bad experience at Nicky Doodles tonight in Rome NY. My nephew, wife and myself ordered hamburgers and onion rings and a beverage something our mouths had been watering for all day. After about fifteen minutes went bye after ordering our food we noticed three plates had been sitting for quite some time with onion rings on them . My wife said to me if those are our onion rings and they're cold I am sending them back and getting new ones made. Once the hamburgers were finished and put onto the plates with the onion rings and given to us my wife felt the onion rings and said they were cold. When my wife complained about the food being cold to the manager he said that was impossible as the food was kept under a heating light until the hamburgers were ready. Then I felt the onion rings and they were definitely cold so I told the manager that the onion rings were cold and wanted new ones. His response to me was I will make you some new ones and then mumbled YOU DONT NEED TO COME BACK HERE AGAIN EITHER!! I was very upset with him for being so rude and condescending to me , this whole thing could have turned out better had the timing of the onion rings getting cooked been closer to the hamburger being done. I don't mind waiting on food as long as it's warm and not cold . I guess I don't need to eat at Nicky...
