Added this Definitely not the first time I've eaten there, but it gets better each time! I wanted to give him six stars but I'm just not that good at computer programming! Hands down! Best, Mexican restaurant in Saratoga! From the food to the staff everything was great. ...Fast forward to April 1, 2023, We booked a party of eight for the middle of the dinner. Rush and everything went amazing! The reason I'm editing my original review is because in the middle of the meal mother nature through a curveball and power went out. I want to give kudos to the staff because they kept on working, kept customer smiling and did everything in their power to keep everyone happy. I can't say enough about the staff, I can't say enough about the overall atmosphere, and none of that happens if the people in charge aren't treating their people great. Just one more reason I highly recommend! 10/20/2023- I have to say this being another edit to the review! CONSISTENCY COUNTS ! We are what I'd call semi frequent diners at the Mex I'm always impressed by the ability to wow my taste buds and have a fantastic vibe from the entire staff!...

My husband and I wanted to take our family out for a New Years Eve dinner. The restaurant that we typically eat at had over an hour wait so we figured we would try out Mexican Connection. For starters, we weren’t able to get our baby’s stroller through the front door and had difficulties accessing the handicap entrance. The place is very small so it took a few minutes for the server to find a spot that would accommodate our stroller. We were immediately brought over a basket of chips and fresh salsa. The salsa was tasty but the chips were absolutely store- bought chips ( and not the good ones). We ordered a margarita and it definitely only had a splash of tequila, if that. It took almost 45 minutes for us to get our food— this was a long wait for 3 kids under the age of 4 to wait. When we got our food, it was piping hot. My husbands chimichanga was decent but the rest of the food lacked flavor. My enchiladas had zero flavor and my boy’s quesadillas were barely cooked. If you are considering eating here, do yourself a favor and drive down the road to Cantina or El Mexicano for much better food...

Absolutely fantastic! Genuine, authentic Mexican cuisine! Hands down the best Mexican food in the area that I've tried! Massive portions and considerably cheaper that all other Mexican restaurants in the area. Blue Margaritas are super tasty and they dang sure didn't skimp on the tequila! Will be back soon and often!

Edit: 3rd trip and had the same waitress as the second trip. 2nd trip the service was subpar but this trip was different. Realized that our $8 drink had turned into a $16 drink (charged for 2 drinks when the first drink was much weaker than normal). Didn't contest the bill (although perhaps we should've). Left a $16 tip on a $108 tab, was followed to the parking lot by our waitress about the tip. Was asked if we were unhappy with the service and we replied no although it took over an hour for our food to be brought to the table. Our waitress told us it was unusual for her to receive a tip below 10%, which it was not, unless the customer was unhappy with their service. Honestly based on this last experience we will...

So I’ll take some blame for coming on a Saturday night, Labor Day weekend at dinner time. BUT the service was awful. It took 20 minutes to get our first round of drinks and it was a drop and run. Another 15 minutes to put in an order for appetizers. We were here for an hour and a half before getting our next round of drinks - including water - and another 15 for our meals. In total we’ve been here more than 2 hours and now we’re waiting, again, for the server. Overheard him telling another guest: Well, we only have 3 servers tonight. Picture is at the 1 1/2hr mark

This is a good local Mexican ‘local’ just a short walk down from the Race Track. We stopped in the other night and just grabbed a seat at the bar. The drinks were good and the service was as well. We probably didn’t order the right things on the menu but would be willing to head back and give it another try. If you’re gonna try it out, just be aware that it’s not open every night. I think it is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but I am wondering if the opening nights change during racing season when the races are running Wed-Sun.
