My husband and I dined here for his birthday dinner. We were looking for a new place to try. We expected more being in Saratoga and at the Gideon Putnam. The food looked delicious but it definitely was underwhelming. My chicken was good but it was served with watery pasta and sauce around the edge of the plate. My husband's ribeye lacked flavor/seasoning. He said that it was one of the toughest steaks that he had ever had. The French onion soup tasted diluted. For the amount that we paid we weren't impressed. The atmosphere was on the loud side more like a bar or pub. The dress attire was a lot more casual than I would expect in a place like this. The waitress was busy and we're patient and understanding but she passed the table numerous times and didn't fill out water glasses. We were sitting next to the water pitcher station. We didn't sit on the patio but that's a nice option. I wouldn't waste my time or money here unless stopping for a drink or...
Read moreI had never been here before, but I understand they've done a lot of work around the property. Dinner was delicious! The staff was so friendly. I was greeted by Tyler, who brought me to my table, where Anna made suggestions, and answered questions I asked. They were out of the cocktail I wanted, but the wine I chose was very very good. I had the French Onion soup, the filet, and a blackberry bread pudding with maple whipped cream and lemon sorbet for dessert. The restaurant was quiet when I got there for the early seating, but full within 1/2 hour or so. They have outdoor seating as well, and bar seating. I will definately be back, great time! * I asked for the filet to be medium rare and when I cut into it, I was so happy! It really was cooked to perfection, which I totally...
Read moreThis is a very poor restaurant. The food was terrible. The service was bad. The shrimp tacos were inedible. The hamburger was under-cooked and mac and cheese was over-cooked. The fish was okay, but the mush that it was accompanied by was terrible. The service was friendly but equally poor. Some dishes arrived cold. He ignored my request for water without ice. He didn't seem to know the menu. The best dish in the house lobster risotto was sold out at 7 p.m. and the waiter did not have a suggestion for alternatives. The place is a beautiful stately dinning room inside the an old hotel in the Saratoga Spa State Park. The setting is nice. If they allow outside catering it could be a nice place to host weddings, but the food is so bad I would not invite my enemies...
