A Taste of Guyana Roti Shop & Bakery — Restaurant in City of Schenectady

Overall the food is good and the atmosphere is clean. The portion size is too small compare to the price and other restaurants. They only serve dark meat, chicken thigh specifically (no other parts of the chicken). They have a weekly special but claims that they do not make it because it's too hot (temperature outside) to cook. You are in the cooking business. Why not do away with one of the daily specials and make the weekly special especially when customers are relying on it. It takes the same amount of time as cooking another dish. Lastly, they are closed on Sundays and Mondays and most holidays. I understand that they may need to close Mondays but why Sundays, especially on a weekend. Makes no sense from a restaurant perspective.

June 24, 2021- Have to revise my original review. The owner is very rude especially to Seniors. She is loud and condescending. I observed her interrupting an elderly couple that was talking among themselves. Ok so finally the owner actually listened. Great portion of food price is very right. So far the best food in Schenectady keep up the good work and actually listen to customers feedback and you'll have a successful business. We need this restaurant to be up and running because currently Schenectady has no good eat out spot/Caribbean restaurants. Next before I leave you should ask customers their input on the food and customer service in order to strive for greatness and be a long successful business just a heads up......

Ok so I bought a large fried rice it came to $13.00 and there was 3 pieces of chicken so if u have to share the food with someone you're only getting 1.5 piece of chicken per person, why not make it 4 pieces common sense.Also customer service is extremely bad the lady never seems to be in a good mood. The customers service at this restaurant is very horrible/rude and disrespectful.And from where I see everyone that works there is rude in the restaurant that day,My husband and I went there to pick up an order when we open the food it was spoiled and the food smelled awful,the cashier was very rude saying we don’t need you to shop here,that’s not customer services just so you know, if wasn’t for customers they won’t be any-restaurant or other business as for the cashier just to remind you,you work in a restaurant where people buy food not some big company you work in a ROTI SHOP so I don’t understand why you’re so proud to be rude anyways I or my entire family/friends would never BUY food from this...
