I should have known something was off when the clock was not set correctly and cases of two liters were stacked by one of three tables. There is no sink to wash hands. I am not in the habit of assuming the order will be subpar. The beef dish and soup were over $10 had very little meat in it, with the few fatty pieces hidden in barely cooked peppers. Even the pork fried rice had little pork in it, and no egg. The onions were the only nearly decent part of the dish. Do not abuse my trust when I order take out AND pay up front. If you cannot afford to prepare a dish properly, take it off the menu or reduce the fare you list. I know that Chinese food in both China and Chinatown is way different from what you get elsewhere. I also have a formal foods and nutrition background, having cooked for dining patrons of many backgrounds and tastes. This includes celebrities such as Buddy Hackett, Arthell Neville, Trent Reznor and 9Inch Nails, Li’l Wayne and Pantera. I was requested by patrons and servers alike because I kept a clean, neat work area, etc. for the food to be the same, as well as nutritious, delicious and beautiful. It goes without saying that wait staff admitted that some of their best tips were earned when I worked. Never take customers for granted. Being a devotee of Martin Yan and Grace Young, I expect fine quality Chinese food....

Biggest reason for the low review is the way I was treated by the manager on call. When I got home, my sesame beef was missing from my takeout order (via Mealeo). I waited until the dinner rush was over and called for a $12.75+tax refund to my card. However, the manager only offered to have me drive back and pick it up or have a credit towards my next order. When neither of those were acceptable, he simply alternated between them, wouldn't let the conversation end until I hung up it accepted one, and wouldn't give me a refund. When I settled for "credit" with no other option but to continue a pointless, circular conversation for the 4th time, he took down my number and hung up immediately. I don't know if that credit is somehow through Mealeo, on some notepad next to the register, or completely made up.
$12.75 later, I know NEVER to order...
Read moreI placed my order on Mealeo so I have nothing to say about thier customer service. Though the delivery was super fast and the driver was nice. This is the 1st time I have ordered frim New China. When I order from a place the 1st time I always order the sweet and sour chicken. It's a super basic meal.
Pros of the meal: Chicken tasted good with and without the sauce. The sauce was good also. The Egg Roll was yummy. The Wonton Soup was a pint and they gave me 5 wontons which is more that most places give you. It was flavorful. I asked for chopsticks and they did provide it.
Cons of the meal: the rice was dry. After I put a packet of soy sauce on it, it was very tasty. I ordered the shanghi spring roll and it was a bit mushy inside. Not sure if that is normal but I've never had a spring roll be mushy. I also ordered a soda and asked for orange or grape but they sent a sprite.
I will probably give New China a second change next time I crave chinese food. I will give a beef dish a try and will...
