Union Pizza — Restaurant in City of Schenectady

Union Pizza was once a legacy of Schenectady and the original owner is Gus and Debbie were the two most amazing people in a restaurant owner that I ever met in my life. A relative of mine. Angelo actually helped them open their business back in the years prior and union pizza became a legacy of Schenectady as a Schenectady resident myself, every time I had lunch going over to union Pizza it was a legacy the taste of the pizza the quality of the pizza the quality of the food the quality of the service and what’s heartbroken to me. I’m finally back in Schenectady after 18 years and I’ve came to union Pizza twice For one. The original owners have been disrespected. The name was kept the pizza recipe was changed because the pizza is never what it once was the quality is changed. It’s always cold if I had pizza delivered when I’ve had it there. It’s either been cold or burnt Schenectady more Are either closing or the previous owners retiring and the people that are taking it over now or just killing the name it breaks my heart because moving back to Schenectady what I was looking forward to was coming to union Pizza and sadly now pizza scratched off my list. It’s horrible. It’s just terrible when my father passed away last October me and my brother we stopped in there to get pizza after our father passed away and even my brother Justin we both grew up in Oneida went over to get pizza at union Pizza it’s horrible , everybody has agreed my family that always ordered from union Pizza. We don’t know what happened when the original owners sold to the new owners but the new owners killed the legacy of union Pizza that was one of Schenectady top pizzerias relative the original open the restaurant which has a restaurant in Bradenton, Florida , when you have a restaurant business, it’s quality in the recipe that you put into your customers the way you treat your customers. There’s just no pride in this ownership owns this restaurant now they all smoke outside their cigarette butts on the ground. It’s not with the old owners used to be , whenever Debbie would come in, she would say she would greet her customers for years the same as Gus when he would see me he would stop. He would have a conversation with me then I would also know the quality food I was getting that pizza was worth five dollars a slice , it’s probably not even worth a dollar. I really hope this helps these owners that this off the original owners. Maybe they talk to the original owners change the recipe back put the restaurant back to what it used to be because you lost a long time customer and me I came there over 25 years And when me and my brother came there last October after our father passed away in Ellis the pizza was just the worst we had to go and eat somewhere else when we left. It’s disgusting and I’m not want to ever lower somebody’s business, but you got a lot of work to do to be where the original owners were , the original owners retire that they deserved because they Schenectady residence many many years of quality top food deserved retirement, and their children even were best in the business the original owners I knew their son. I knew their daughter they ran the restaurant with the parents union has fallen apart with the ownership and it’s just sad and then you raise prices on the food when it’s lower quality the original owners could’ve raised that pizza 50% when they had it because it was good quality. The cheeses were top quality. I remember talking to Gus the cheese was the top quality that he ordered I don’t know who bought this, but it’s not what it used to be and I’m not one that does too often but it’s just totally surprised me because all the years when I didn’t live in Schenectady, I missed coming to union Pizza then I come to find out when I moved back here just how horrible it got and I didn’t do this. Just there were multiple visits over two years to where I got the same service the same quality pizza and also took pictures, but I’m not gonna ruin somebody’s business by sharing everything that’s all. The guy that was working there today at 7:15 pm was extremely rude and mean!!!! I don’t know if he’s a new owner or person but he was not nice and had awful customer service. I just finished my shift at the hospital right next to Union Pizza, and my spouse went in to get a few slices of pizza. My spouse got two slices of cheese pizza for me and two pepperoni slices for him and he requested to get to separate boxes or atleast a paper bag to separate the both of them because I am a vegetarian. The girl that was working there was very nice and pleasant and offered him the two boxes. The man working there interjects and says rudely “what is this box for?” And the girl nicely replied back to him that “the customer requested two boxes”, and the guy rudely again said “no no it all goes into one box!” And then he picked up the two slices of pepperoni pizza and dumped it ontop of my two slices of cheese pizza. Such a horrible experience! And to think the nurses at the hospital a block away from here always orders dozens of pizza from them and give them such good service. After today I will never go back again! Plus my spouse saw the help wanted sign and wanted to ask for more information but didn’t because of the guy’s rudeness. He should’ve been really more considerate towards other people, let alone being a vegetarian, what if someone was allergic and he dumped it all...

Called to ask if they had any specials, they said No, after asking again about 2 slices and a drink like majority of pizza shops they said oh yes. I then thought I'll order online so I could pick it up. Online prices are not reflective of the menu prices. Also, you can not order slices online, but they offer 10% discount. I was unable to order online as I planned. I went to the shop and decided to order boneless wings and a slice with some cheesecake. The slice had about 2 inches of crust and not much pizza, the cheesecake (blueberry) that I happen to pick had a thick layer of mold on top which prompted me not to try any other ones, i didnt sprinkle and parmesan cheese because of how nasty thebjar looked inside and lastly the boneless wings I posted is absolutely and unnecessarily drowning in sauce. I asked if they could honor the 10% as online while I was at the shop, they told me yes and did not apply. At this point I'm just hungry and needed to eat, but I would say the $15 dollars and change I spent for this was not worth it in the slightest. I'm requesting a refund and that's something I don't ever do because I understand you can't please everyone....
