Soulicious II — Restaurant in City of Schenectady

I went here for the first time today and I will admit I was a bit hesitant. When I came into the restaurant I was greeted with a smile and that quickly put me to ease. I ordered the curry chicken because , I was a bit early and the jerk chicken had not finished cooking yet. The portion was large! The chicken fell off the bone and had lots of flavor! The cabbage was fresh and seasoned well. The rice and peas were soft and seasoned with the juice from the chicken. It was awesome! My only regret was I did not get the Mac and cheese but don’t worry I’m going back tomorrow and I am bringing my family this weekend. All the food in the case looked really fresh and awesome! I would’ve taken a picture but I tore that food up before I even had the thought of a photo. Let me tell you something about soulicious. The food is AMAZING, it’s perfectly cooked and flavorful. Monica and her husband are the nicest people you’ll ever meet, they will make you feel welcome and engage with you. The atmosphere is beautiful all around, I love the Bob Marley vibe. I have nothing negative to say. This is REAL Caribbean food. I mean it, you go there you won’t go no place else for Caribbean food. I recommend the oxtails and Mac and cheese. I am from out of town and wanted to find a good Jamaican restaurant. From the time I showed up. I was treated kindly and assisted by a sweet lady, (owner)and a young man inside who fried the food. They both walked me through the menu, which is full of yummy options. The young man fried my son some of the best fish we have ever eaten. I can go on and on.....but all in all the place was clean and inviting. The food was delicious! The rice and peas is my favorite of all time. I have and will recommend this place to everyone.
