Joseph Putrello Coffee — Restaurant in City of Utica

Wow, what an experience. As soon as we walked in we got a warm welcome with a little Italian hello. The menu had so many delicious coffee drinks to choose from. The details about every drink were well written on the menu and they also offer a QR code to scan to get a visual reference of the drinks. Jake was so kind and helpful with explaining the pastries they offered and was willing to answer any questions we had. After ordering everything we found a cute little table to sit at. This place is not a traditional coffee shop it is more like a lobby cafe with not a ton of seating so we did have to steal a chair and move the table a little for the four of us to sit together. But there is a nice upper seating area that looked cozy as well (mostly tables for two or three people). We got our pastries served to us first, they were so good we ate mostly everything before the coffee came. The fresh and very large cream puffs had so much delicious, light cream in them I think those were my favorite we got a regular and pistachio one. When the coffees came it was heaven. They make such beautiful, creamy, flavorful coffees we almost didn't want to drink them. But of course drinking them was the best part, you can tell they love what they do and they love coffee! I had a really great experience here. The place is small but very clean and sleek, white and metal decor. It's set up like a coffee kiosk with seating. I ordered a bicerin coffee, and got a drip coffee and espresso. I can say that each item was delicious! I had never had a bicerin before and it was really unique. Definitely get the pistachio cream on top. It's fantastic! It reminds me of coffee I had in Italy. The owner actually came over and chatted with us and made sure we were enjoying our coffee. He was really pleasant and passionate. It was nice to hear about his path and vision and realization of his dream. It was really nice to see. The service overall was really nice and high quality, doing little touches like serving on a shiny metal tray all white and black etc. And the coffee was really excellent. It was nice to enjoy really high quality without being overly pretentious. The coffee had great robust flavor but not acidic or fruity. Nice to see something like this in Utica! I love how much attention to detail this place offers you in the experience. The design and decor create an atmosphere that fits the sleek euro vibes. The customer staff are very attentive and friendly with uniforms, and they deliver your coffee to your table. The handcrafted coffee beverages are made using premium ingredients and their techniques make the coffee a complete luxury in comparison to your typical coffee shop.

My favorite beverage is the Iced Latte with caramel sauce. Somehow they create a consistent drink every time I order and it has this delicious creamy froth on top from the espresso that is divine. Another bonus is the whipped cream- which I believe is homemade! Like I said every. detail.
