Bob's Diner — Restaurant in City of Watervliet

I’m honestly really disappointed. I used to love Bob’s Diner. My opinion has been changed. I work late nights. Often I would place an order on DoorDash, and pick it up in the way home. Over the past three months I’ve ordered and I’ve noticed that I’d get home with no syrup, butter, or utensils. I can live with that. What I can’t live with is not getting things in my order that I was up charged for. For example, chocolate chip pancakes, no chocolate chips. French Toast with strawberries. No strawberries. More times than not I would get home and be missing something. I always let it go, I hate saying anything. I’ve had enough though. About a month ago I had ordered and in my order was a large sprite and a large coke. When I went to pick it up, I had two large sprites. When I brought it to the young lady’s attention behind the counter she stated “No you ordered two sprites” I went to show her my order on my phone and she walked away. Instead of arguing I left. Tonight, I ordered Bob’s again. I pulled up and they weren’t busy. One patron at the counter and two tables in the dining room. I picked my order up and asked for syrup and the strawberries that I had paid for that wasn’t in the bag. I should have taken that as a clue and actually went through the order. I had gotten home and my fiancé had her pancakes, I however didn’t have my French toast. I called immediately and it rang continuously. I was put on hold three times before someone picked up. I was told essentially to go through DoorDash to get refunded. The problem is, it’s all the time now. I always tip well. I am always very polite. When I pay for something, I expect that something. Bobs has completely gone down hill. They have no consistency anymore except consistently forgetting things in orders. The staff was rude and dismissive. I’m sorry if you’re miserable, I’m sorry if you don’t like your job. The least you can do for a paying customer is the bare minimum and make sure everything is in the order before it is bagged up and I am pushed out the door because you just don’t want to do your job. If a customer steals from you it is wrong, but in Bob’s eyes it is okay to steal from the customer. What a shame. Hopefully management will clean house and dump the dead weight employees that can’t do their jobs. Until then, I won’t be returning and honestly I don’t recommend anyone else does. I’ve been coming here for almost 7 years, and I just wanted to leave a review finally because today made me realize how much I really do love and value this place. Not only are they my go-to for late nights/early mornings, but they always have the nicest servers and the fastest service for a small diner.

Today was the first time I’ve come alone with both of my small kids- it’s usually pretty hard for me to take them places alone because they’re very impatient. But today our food came out so quickly and the waitress even went out of her way to make sure my daughter felt just as special as my son.

I’ve never once had a bad experience here, I’ve come throughout both of my pregnancies, hungover from a night out and everything in between.

I appreciate the servers and the cooks more than they could ever imagine and I don’t even know them personally! They’re literally always there when I’m starving, day or night and am on a budget!

I used to like coming to Bob's..Waitress where sweet didn't have to ask for a fork then 10 minutes later I asked for a knife then my spaghetti dinner came. Cold .NASTY taste like a can NO FLAVOR then I had to ask again for cheese. then I had to ask for bread waitstaff was like. what kind? I said Italian if it's here' sucked her teeth at me .& she rolled her eyes at me .((Teens)) anyway I had to "Ask ' for butter... what ? I asked again this little whitehead pretty much threw 10 packets on dirty counter to me walked away..(3 people in whole restaurants . Don't want to work or be where u are CHANGE JOBS at Bob's diner used to he my fav diner. Not any more...HOWEVR I miss Dawn and the day time waitress there where 2 tonight who had bad energy nasty attitudes however the ..1 that was Sweet as heck and SHE s going olaced
