Deacon Blues — Restaurant in City of Watervliet

My friend and I came here for lunch after seeing the news about what happened when the owners were on vacation. We felt so bad about their wait staff screwing them over... This is a really good local business to eat at. They have a full bar as soon as you walk in. We were greeted immediately by the bartender and were told we could sit anywhere in the dining area. The food showed up quickly and my girlfriend and I were both very happy with our meals! The only negative I would say would be the tablecloths. I'm sure they were very nice at one point but they seem to be stained and the tables were probably look better without them. Hands down the worst meal I ever had. I ordered shrimp scampi and I was served a giant pile of pasta with some shrimp thrown on it. A couple of the shrimp were not cooked through. The staff was nice, but our server seemed like she was in a big hurry. My husband had prime rib. It looked way better than it tasted. It was way too salty. Dinner rolls and butter were served cold. French onion soup was ok. Clam chowder was better. Maybe stick to the pizza...

Absolutely phenomenal place!! For years n years growing up in the Capital District I thought I found all the "hidden gems" on places you would not know about - where the food is outstanding; well a friend of mine introduced thos place to me and 5*'s across the board!
