As a seasoned restaurant reviewer with a passion for uncovering regional gems, I can say without hesitation that Hermosillo Hotdogs in Clarkdale is a culinary treasure that punches well above its weight.
This unassuming restaurant delivers a masterclass in Sonoran street food. The signature Hermosillo dog—wrapped in smoky bacon, nestled in a pillowy bolillo-style bun, and layered with pinto beans, grilled onions, jalapeño sauce, mustard, and mayo—is both an homage to tradition and a revelation of flavor. Every bite is a perfect blend of savory, spicy, and creamy textures, with a touch of char that speaks to careful preparation and pride in their craft.
The menu may be focused, but that’s the beauty of it: what they do, they do to perfection. Service is quick, friendly, and warm—true to the spirit of a small-town Arizona eatery with deep Mexican roots.
Whether you’re a local or a traveler passing through the Verde Valley, Hermosillo Hotdogs is more than worth the detour. This is street food at its most soulful and satisfying.

Honestly though, they also serve Birria Tacos... and why on earth anyone would order a hot dog when birria tacos are an option is beyond me. I placed a pick-up order and 15 minutes later picked up 4 supremely delicious, savory, crispy, well dressed tacos to go. They were spectacular - I could live on those tacos, seriously. Can't wait to order again... by the truckload. Bonus points for the well done remodel and having a clean restaurant with welcoming,...

We got a queso birria taco and a cabesa taco. Both were good but also on the salty side.
The hotdog was $5 and it was pretty good for the price. I think the hotdog was a little small for the amount of toppings and size of bun. Was I impressed, no, would I get it for $5 again…ugh maybe.
The person who served us was...
