NEVER in my LIFE have I been treated more rudely by a restaraunt. I was given the wrong lunch, told repeatedly that I was the one who messed up, and then have to listen to this woman tell about how I was wrong and THINK I ordered what I did 3 times while I waited for the right thing to come, one of the times to OTHER CUSTOMERS! RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! Humiliating!
I'll preface this by saying my family and I have been getting food from Marino Bro's for something like 20 years. I get the same 2 things every time, either a steak hoagie, or a sausage hoagie.
Today when I was in there, I was given their signature sausage sandwich. I went back in, was very polite, not mad, and explained I wanted a hoagie.
The lady at the register argued with me that I said the sandwich, I corrected her, she tells me I'm wrong, we go back and forth exactly like that a few times. She explains to me about the sandwich, I know about the sandwich. I wanted a hoagie though, not the sandwich.
Exasperated, in an annoyed tone she explains how I messed up and want a hoagie now to her manager. I correct her, and she corrects me back. The manager is much nicer, but again explains to me about the sandwich. I KNOW ABOUT THE SANDWICH, I SAID HOAGIE! QUIT ACTING LIKE I MESSED UP WHEN I DIDN'T! QUIT ACTING LIKE YOU'RE DOING ME A FAVOR!
As I said above, she retold the story of how I thought I said hoagie but insisted I said sandwich on two different occasions in the back, and once out in the dining room to other customers right in front of me.
I gave that woman a 4 dollar tip (really good for my total) to walk an order to the back, and then to pick it up and hand it to me when it was done. I've never regretted a tip more in my life.
Gonna miss that steak hoagie immensely, but I am NEVER eating at Marino...
Read moreI have ordered there twice and both times have been a negative experience. The first time I ordered, I had the golden tortellini. They were still raw and it tasted pretty bad because the oil it was fried in tasted as if the oil hadn't been changed in a while. It also took over 2 hours before we got our food. They did try to make up for that by providing subs at a later date. The second time I got food from here, I ordered the " cast iron mac and cheese" and a side salad. I was surprised and very disappointed when I saw the mac and cheese. I assumed it would have been homemade or something similar to that; not Kraft mac and cheese from the box. I would never have ordered it had i known that. The lettuce in the side salad was bad. So, needless to say, I spent $16 on food that was too unappetizing to eat. The cannolis are good though. Honestly, I am too afraid to order there again and risk...
Read moreI am shocked to see some bad reviews near the top for this place! This is one of my favorite places around to eat. My real estate office is right around the corner making this a very easy place to do lunch or a dinner before going home. I have had just about everything on the menu and I have yet to eat anything bad, or ever get bad service. I am treated like a valued guest when I walk in. Usually greeted by everyone working. The service is always good, the owner even usually comes out of the back to say hello. Most importantly the food is always great. The subs are great, the Frankie feast is great, the wings are good, the burgers are good, the onion rings are good, the calamari app is AWESOME, and they always have some interesting specials. This place is also crazy cheap for the heaps of food you get. I don't see how anyone could not like this place.....try it again, must have...
