As newcomers to the state, we’re always on the lookout for locally-owned coffee shops, and Stonewall Coffee in Clarksburg has been a delightful find. Nestled on the first floor of a historic building next to the courthouse in downtown Clarksburg, the shop has preserved much of its original charm while adding modern touches. The standout feature is the beautiful coffee machine, and their drink menu is impressively extensive (be sure to check out their hand-bound menu binder).
The atmosphere is unbeatable. The afternoon barista Bailey is not only knowledgeable but incredibly friendly and kind, making each visit special. Kudos to the owners for having her!
While we’re not fans of the espresso or the coffee they use for espresso-based drinks, they work wonderfully in blended drinks and cold brew – definitely worth trying! On the other hand, their tea selection is a real winner for me. It’s extensive, organic, and delicious, whether you prefer it hot or cold.

Read moreI was sitting outside of this cafe when I was at my lowest. I had just became homeless due to unfortunate circumstances and the owner saw that I was having a tough time and he was closing up as I was sitting in the bench connected to his wifi waiting to figure things out with a job offer and a new apartment. The owner was closing up and brought my husband and I a cookie and told us to have a great night. I later returned when I was on my feet and tipped 20$ and bought some coffee and a cookie. Great staff great service and yummy brewed coffee. This man really made a difference in my life the day he gave me that cookie. I hadn't eaten all day and I was very stressed at the sudden homelessness. Its a small business but I would go there every day if I still lived in clarksburg. I wish that there were more places like this. And more owners with compassion. Definitely recommend . Go get some coffee and a cookie or scone and enjoy the...
Read moreStonewall Coffee House should be #1 on your list of places to visit while in Clarksburg. I am a PA native but have a son who now lives in this charming town which we explored today. I love history, good expresso, and warm hospitality and got an ample dose of all three at Stonewall. It is worth visiting if for no other reason than to see the picture of Stonewall Jackson hanging on the wall. It is made entirely out of pennies, though I forget the exact amount. Simply amazing! Even more amazing was the Stonewall Jackson expresso I had that I highly recommend. The gentleman who owns this quaint coffeehouse was welcoming and cordial as he took the time to chat with my son and I before we left. My visit to Stonewall today was worth every penny,...
