I went with my family for the first time for dinner on a Friday evening and there was no wait to get seated, which was great, and the wait staff was very friendly. We ordered 2 pizzas, the Hot Brown and a half cheese/half pepperoni, and a meatball sub. The Hot Brown was delicious but my wife and I thought the turkey chunks were too big and too dry so we removed them but still ate the pizza and really enjoyed it. I would recommend they either do smaller pieces or turkey or look for a different turkey option. The cheese/pepperoni pizza was good as well and I really liked the soft crust. The meatball sub was the worst meatball sub I've ever seen (my 12 year old son ordered it and only ate a few bites). It had a very small amount of sauce, very small meatballs (each of them were about the size of a quarter), and there were barely any meatballs. There were 2 meatballs on one half of the sub and 3 on the other so my son moved the 2 from one half to the other and 5 meatballs still weren't enough to fill half of the sub. The waiter said he would have some more heated up for us and those were brought out after a few minutes so I'm guessing the meatballs were just frozen and probably microwaved really quick. The sad thing is that it took the meatball sub the longest to be brought out after we ordered. The other thing we were disappointed with was how long it took our food to be made/brought out to us. It was about an hour from when we walked in to when we got our food and we sat down at our table right away so it was probably a 40 minute wait. The staff was nice, but they told us a couple times that it would only be a few more minutes and they weren't correct either time. I appreciated them checking in and giving us updates, but I'd rather them be honest and tell me a more correct amount of time. 3 stars might be a bit generous for our first time there, but I felt like the pizza, the time to be seated (especially on a Friday at 6:30pm), and the friendliness of the staff deserve 5 stars, but the wait to receive our food, the turkey on the Hot Brown, and the meatball sub deserve 0 stars (if that were possible so actually 1 star). I would recommend ordering take out and sticking with pizza. We were also told the pasta machine was broken so we couldn't order...
Read moreI've never really liked pizza, but my husband does. He tried Hunter Station Pizza shortly after they opened, and he wouldn't stop talking about it. For months, he would beg me to try it, but I kept saying that it was too expensive to try, especially for a food I already don't like.
Eventually, he got me to try it, and it blew my mind. Yes, it's more expensive than the chain pizza places, but the quality and amount of food you get is worth every penny! This place has made me a pizza lover... but only for Hunter Station Pizza!
All but one of the servers have been amazing, but my FAVORITE is Emma!
Over the last 4 months or so, I have tried almost everything on the menu.
I believe all/most of the sauces are made specifically for Hunter Station Pizza by a local business. They also have Dippn' Dots ice cream, and the best pan cookies and brownies, made fresh when you order!
My favorites are the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza, the Hot Brown pizza, the BBQ Chicken pizza, and the Fettuccine Alfredo pasta. The Ultimate Cheese Sticks are great, but I prefer the regular Cheese Sticks. They are insanely good! And... I may have a slight addiction to the freshly-made marinara sauce.
The calzones are massive, and definitely enough for 2 people to split. The pasta comes with a full size salad, nearly big enough to be a meal on its own. The small 12" pizzas don't lack toppings either. Definitely expect to be able to share food with someone when you eat here.
There are only a few things that I don't care for. I don't like the bourbon sauce or the teriyaki sauce, but other people rave about them! I've never liked those sauces anywhere though. I think the turkey slices on the Hot Brown pizza are too big. It would be perfect if they were cut to bite-size pieces.
Look, you just have to try the place. Please remember that the employees making your food are human, and probably a teenager. Humans make mistakes, especially teenagers. It's rare, but if your food isn't up to par the first time you try it, call the restaurant and ask for Chris or Nick. They genuinely care deeply about the community and their customers. They want you to have the best experience, so please don't stop going there because of...
Read moreVisited during dinner time on Saturday of their opening weekend. Bar seating was available, so I sat at the bar. After 10 minutes was asked what to drink, was not given a menu and the liquor shelves were barren so I had no idea what to even order. Asked for water. Watched the one waitress who was set to serve the entire front of the business bring out my water and take it back to the kitchen as she was struggling to prioritize everything being thrown at her. The rest of the staff seemed to be very young children, definitely under 21, so no doubt they were limited in what they could help with because the business serves alcohol - it's illegal for them to even touch a bottle. So while the one waitress was struggling to service everyone, kids were on their phones and not able to do much to relieve the one point of pressure in the building at the time.
Waited 40 total minutes before they even gave me a menu. Couldn't even look up what their specials were online as their Toast ordering system wasn't completely set up yet. Told the waitress I was just going to leave, since I didn't want to wait any longer. She asked me to return in a week as they are short staffed, but it should be better next week.
This is Hunter Station Pizza's opening weekend. They clearly spent more on advertising and remodeling for their opening day than being prepared for it. No guest should have to wait so long to even get a menu - they should be allowed to consider what they'd like to order instead of helplessly watching the business underperform. I doubt I'll return. Maybe if they prove to prioritize their staff and their customer service, but then and only then...
