I had a taste for a street taco. So I stopped at Kadi's for the first time. I love street taco's. So I thought I knew what I was going to get. Unfortunately I did NOT find them here. Upon walking in I was greeted with a friendly hello! This is a small but nice place to eat. The guy behind the counter seemed well informed and knew what I wanted. He offered me a small taste of their green sauce. I'm glad I tried it. It was too hot for my taste buds. So I went with the red sauce. Traditionally speaking from my experience (45+yrs from Chicago and here) street taco's come served on a double soft shell, with cilantro and onions. I ordered 4 steak street tacos with xtra cilantro to go. I live closeby so it was a to go order. Upon getting home (5 minutes later) the bottom of my brown paper bag was wet in appearance, (like an order of greasy french fries). I knew right away something was amiss. In all my years of ordering street taco's to go did I ever have a greasy bag. Upon opening my foil wrapped taco's was there was only 1 soft taco shell, (not 2). Next the shells were soaking wet from what I see as being the grease from the meat, plus there was no onions. Based on all my previous experiences, the meat should be charred and dry, not wet and greasy. I was looking for a flavor that just wasn't there. I'm not trying to be rude here. I certainly am not trying to tell anyone not to go. Your experience could be different. But for me. I no longer see myself stopping here to get a street taco. Which is sad for me. Because Kadi's is very close to me. It would have been awesome to have a street taco...
Read moreSuper friendly staff and excellent service and I love another local option for food in the Sango area, but I have to agree with a previous review. In my street tacos the beef was entirely too salty and there was way so much that it was pretty much meat spilling out of the tortilla. Our loaded fries were just plain fries, plain cheese sauce, sour cream and barbacoa(which was good) and waaaay too loaded(it was almost a soup), but nothing to really elevate it. The plantains were great!
I will definitely return to try the breakfast options because they sound great!
I'm sure they will improve the longer they're open.
UPDATE: I hate doing this, but the food was even worse the second time, and again the cheese fries were absolutely drowned in cheese sauce... I couldn't eat the fries with my fingers, or even a fork because the sauce made them so soggy. The taco meat ,again, was even saltier and completely dried out/over cooked, and I don't know how you can have "Tacos" in your restaurant's name but not have a taco sauce/salsa to pair with them. Also, i don't know if the owners have ever had actual shwarma, but what you have on your menu labeled as such is essentially a gyro minus feta, not even close to shwarma. I unfortunately will probably not be...
Read moreThis is NOT your typical mass produced Mexican restaurant. It’s 100 times better! This is a great tasty treat tucked into The Village Plaza in Sango. Their breakfast menu is available all day with a variety of breakfast burritos options to choose from. Their lunch and dinner menu offers tacos and burritos from a choice of four different meats. They also have a couple of African inspired dishes and a variety of sauces. Everything is freshly prepared and the flavors are well balanced. The burrito was filled with the perfect amount of food and no one food item in the burrito overpowered the other. The burrito shell was fresh and tender. It held the food to the last bite and we were not left with half the burrito filling on our plate. Food presentation was appetizing and quality of food ingredients left us satisfied and wanting to return. The absence of greasy food was really nice. The salad was fresh and prepared with care. We chose Kadi sauce for the dressing and it was so fresh and refreshing. The service was excellent and helpful. We highly recommend Kadi’s Taco’s and More and...
