The service and atmosphere are top-notch. The menu is concise and fairly priced. The gratis chips/salsa are the best of any restaurant around this area. I was expecting the same with the entree. The carnitas were probably the worse that I have had in all my travels. First, I was surprised that they almost looked chopped or roughly ground. The odd looking carnita grease leached into the rice and made it in a inedible too. Besides the grease, there was a very odd taste to the small bite of meat I had. To be sure it was not me, I asked someone else to take a small taste and they agreed it was just awful. The beans would have probably been good, but they were so cold from an icy plate that they would not melt the crumbled cheese. The salad was non-descript with an unripe avocado and very tasty pico. The one thing that was surprising was that the server must have seen something was wrong with the meat and rice being untouched, because she offered a to-go box without being asked for one and the box was refused. Not to be too descriptive, but I was forced to stop before I could get home. How very, very disappointing from...
Read moreIn my opinion, this is the best mexican restaurant in the clarksville/ Fort campbell/hopkinsville area for a combination of service, authentic food, cleanliness, and atmosphere.
The food is reasonably priced and delicious. The chips and salsa are the best. They have traditional Mexican dishes alongside your typical texmex smothered burritos, etc., and they have a kids menu with all of the things kids love.
I always order the desayuno casero (pictured), and it always comes out wonderful, and it's a great price for what you get.
The staff is always extremely polite and welcoming, and if you speak Spanish, it's like a home away from home.
No, they don't have alcohol, but this is the perfect spot for all times of the day, and you get get mexican cokes, horchata, and other great drinks instead of alcohol.
I'd highly recommend this spot instead of the other popular spots in the area such as el bracero, which is nowhere near the same quality and atmosphere la...
Read moreI don't know how long the restaurant has actually been open, but I am exstatic to find this place. This is the one of first Mexican restaurants that reminded me a lot of places in San Diego. NO ground beef here! THANK GOD! Only good ole birria, and barbacoa. You can order Tacos, Sopes, tortas, gorditas, burritos and more, with your choice of filling. I ordered; 1 Lengua, Tripa, and Fish taco. The Tripa was crunchy goodness, and the lengua was so flavorful and tender I was so happy. The fish taco-OMG! If you are Rubios or other SoCal fish taco lover you will be happy. The fish was perfection. I also ordered Plantano Maduro (no pic) and they were delicious. Other pics in my review, are chicken bowl and chicken plate (my friends aren't as adventurous). Another friend order birria tacos she said they were delicious. I look forward to returning. They also own the latin market 2 building down. So I need to make a trip there as well. I think you will be happy...
