I’m always on the hunt for the hottest sauces I can find—whether it’s on chicken wings, tacos, or anything in between—and let me tell you, Chubby’s Tacos absolutely delivers. Tucked away inside Walmart in Garner, this place is a surprising explosion of flavor, vibe, and authenticity.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere caught me off guard in the best way. Chill music, cool energy, and a setup that feels more like a hip local taco joint than something you'd expect inside a big box store.

I went with the chorizo breakfast burrito, and it was loaded with rich, savory flavor. Even better, it came with complimentary chips and salsa—and a killer selection of fresh-made sauces. As someone who tests hot sauces on everything from wings to Mexican food, I was impressed. They’ve got serious heat, depth, and that unmistakable fresh-made taste.

Plus, the menu is huge, with tons of authentic Mexican options that make it worth more than just a quick stop. This is the kind of spot you end up coming back to again and again.

I'm not sure where the ball was dropped, but I genuinely can't recommend this location.

I was hoping with a Chubby's Tacos opening in Walmart it would be a quick and convenient stop for some good food before groceries.

For $30+ for two to eat, I wish I had grabbed my groceries and threw together tacos at home.

As someone who loves and eats Hispanic food all the time, this was one of the most bland meals I've had in a minute.

From the rice, to the ChubbyChangas, the beans and tacos, everything just felt... boring.

And when ONE taco is the price of a whole meal at other places, it's so hard to imagine coming back when it just failed to hit the spot.

The one redeeming factor was the staff, they were some of the friendliest and welcoming crew at any food establishment in a minute.

I also would recommend at least trying their salsa bar, as the chips and salsa were good. The ingredients also all tasted fresh, nothing overly processed.

I just wish the main entrees had flavor.

Even the booth next to us said "Next time, Dad's cooking at home. He can do better."

Save your money. Eat at a mom and pop location with real atmosphere and authentic recipes until a standalone Chubby's...

I have seen multiple view points on chubby's tacos. I've had quite a few dishes from their menu and all that I have tried are superb!

I personally have chatted with Mr. Jeremy on multiple occasions and he is always a pleasure to speak with. He has a high attention to detail and to keep moving and staying busy. Sometimes that makes it hard to chat with him but you know he wants to give you his full attention when you do get the opportunity. He has great employees that he treats well and they work diligently with their assigned tasks. The entire restaurant is kept cleaner than almost any other commercial kitchen I've been in (and that's a lot).

I am a plumber and have provided services for Mr. Jeremy on numerous occasions at multiple locations. The plumbing company I work for, and the services we provide, are amongst the best in the wake county and surrounding areas.
