We are pizza fanatics! We go every Friday to a different pizza place that we have not tried. This was our first time eating at Amore Mio Pizza. To start off the restaurant was full and it was two adults and a 4-year-old child. We were seated immediately and the server was quick to come take our order and clean our table off. She was the only server for about eight tables. The environment was warm and cozy with a soft candlelight feel. It was very well decorated and the restaurant was clean including the restrooms which is a huge deal for me! We ordered the pepperoni with burrata cheese and hot honey and a Nutella dessert pizza with strawberries and bananas. The reason why they are only getting a three rating is because we waited an hour and a half for our pizza. By the time we got our pizza the restaurant was basically empty. No one came to tell us anything about our pizza and when I got up to ask basically they told us it got lost but it was in the oven. They were very apologetic but I still think someone should have come to our table and said something along the lines of I'm sorry that your pizza order got misplaced and we are getting it out for you right away. This did not happen and I had to go ask what was going on myself. Up on checkout they did give us the dessert pizza for free. They apologized again at that time. Overall the pizza definitely got a five rating and the service only got a three because they misplaced the pizza but they did not deserve a one for service because they did apologize but they did not get over a three because I still had to go ask instead of someone coming to tell me. I will venture to say that I will definitely try this pizza place again with hopes that the service will be a little bit better next time. Overall I would...
Read moreOh my word! What a Gem of a restaurant! Yesterday my wife and I came to Amore Mio Pizza out of curiosity. We were just in the area, had no expectations. Immediately upon entering the owner greeted us and asked us to sit where we like. He is a very passionate man, who clearly loves his job. He immediately began talking to us about all the different options of food on the menu. He also described with us the monthly specials. As he was doing this he asked us to wait a moment. Fetched his phone then he showed us pictures of the individual items. Each pizza a beautiful piece of art, made with a special light homemade dough that is allowed to breath for 48 to 72hr. By doing this the dough bakes nice, thin, soft, and yummy. I should mention the oven is a brick oven! A beautiful brick oven, that is centrally located so you can easily see the beautiful pies going in and out of it! We ordered lunch, dinner, and dessert when we realized how original this lovely restaurant is! That is to say two pizza's and four cannoli's. After we made our order, the owner offered us a on the house tiramisu, saying "We must try, it's my favorite dessert on our menu!". I say again Amore Mio Pizza is a absolute gem of a restaurant hidden away in Garner, NC. I fully intend to brag when I say I have traveled quite a bit. I've dined in Berlin, Paris, Athens, Rome, Naples, Vienna, Ghent, Vatican City, Zurich, Reykjavik, and Amsterdam. In all those travels I have not felt as welcomed or dined as well as I did in Amore Mio Pizza. I will absolutely be...
Read moreAt approximately 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, my husband and I went to this establishment for a quick dinner. We were given a menu. A Caucasian couple arrived afterwards. The waitress proceeded to serve this couple (which arrived after we did). My husband politely advised the waitress that we were there first. The waitress came to our table with an apparent attitude and begin to take our order. Her demeanor made me feel uncomfortable. She came back to the table with our food. We said thank you. She proceeded to verbally attack, berate and attack my husband's character. The main thing that I zeroed in on was her telling my husband that she was sick of dealing with people like him. What does that mean? All because she wanted to serve a Caucasian couple before serving us? She was so angry and full of rage that I feared for my life. I told my husband that we should leave. As we were leaving, she continued to verbally assault both of us. She made comments like they would absorb the cost of the pizza as if we did not have money to pay for it. It is 2024 and I have never been racially profiled and treated as badly as a human being as I was at Amore Mio Pizza yesterday. I felt like I was on a slave plantation. I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS AGAIN. The sad part is this same waitress will still be employed with this business. Good luck and note if you are an African American, you will be EXPECTED to let them serve Caucasians before...
