This place is great. I love dining here. It's been a work in progress. Initially I didn't like this place.
I read all the negative reviews and I can totally understand and attest to the negative reviews.
If you are used to Vietnamese food from the west coast, the food here will definitely taste mediocre.
When I first dined here I posted a 2 star review because I wasn't used to this restaurants way of cooking. (Very bland)
I later posted a negative review because they hired a new guy to work the register and he was abusive and aggressive towards me.
I later changed my reviews after he was fired and I got used to the change of cooking styles (west coast Vietnamese to east coast Vietnamese), I found that if I add a bunch of soy sauce and lots of siracha , the food tastes better.
I don't like that they charge 50 cents for soy sauce but the siracha is complimentary . I have learned to accept this because I'm guessing it's an east coast thing.
They also charge for bean sprouts , lime and jalapeño which usually comes with PHO. It's like being charged for ketchup at a burger joint , but hey I guess this is how they do things on the east coast.
One of the negative reviews was disturbing. A man waited a very long time for his food, they ended up blaming him and pressuring him into taking the LATE food to go instead of a refund. They actually refused him a refund. I can totally see this happening because I dine here so frequently....It upsets me that they did that to him.
I ACTUALLY saw a girl wait 45 minutes for her drinks . Her and I were the only two people in the restaurant. They didn't even apologize to her ..... again I chalk it up to it being an East Coast thing.
Another negative review was about how the female owner can't speak very good English. Which is true, if you phone in a order she will either get it wrong or miss items you requested (special requests) . The language barrier is an issue , so I stopped phoning in my order to avoid conflict.
The restaurant is modern and very clean. Wifi would be nice but I understand this is a new business and maybe they can't afford it yet.
The owners are husband and wife , I personally never really had a big issue with them. They have been nice to me.
The portion size and the condition of their bread needs to worked on.
Like I said dining here has been a work in progress. I only dine during slow hours NEVER during peak hours (you will never receive your food)
I have learned to love this place. I eat here frequently and can attest to both the positive and negative reviews.
No Wifi *insert sad face :-( Lots of free parking Close to shopping (Burlington, Fresh Market) Wheel chair accessible Indoor and out door...
Read moreStopped in for a quick lunch on 8/1/14. Ordered the noodle salad with shrimp and summer rolls. At that point the restaurant was about half full. The summer rolls came out to my table after about five minutes. They started getting progressively busier and busier, and my entree never came. I started seeing people that had arrived ten and even fifteen minutes after me getting their food.
I eventually went up to the girl distributing food and told her I was catching a movie in fifteen minutes and needed my money back for my entree. I wasn't even that mad. "She goes, well what did you order?" I told her, and then she pointed to my food sitting right there. "They must have lost YOUR ticket." It seemed like she was trying to make it sound like it's my fault for them losing the order number or something. I told her it's okay and mistakes happen, but I don't have time to eat it any longer and would just like my money back. She told me they were too busy to give me a refund, and she would remember my face for next time and give me a discount. She then asked if she could box up my food for me because otherwise she was just going to throw it away. I incredulously said sure. I have never seen such poor customer service in my lifetime. Newsflash: there won't be a next time. I'll write the $8 off as a reminder to never step foot in there again.
If you walk in and the place is anywhere near full, you may as well do yourself a favor and turn right back around, they aren't equipped to handle any type of significant...
Read moreI CALLED AHEAD TO ASK WHAT SEASONINGS WERE IN THE SHRIMP VERMICELLI. THEY SAID THERE WAS NO SEASONING ON THE SHRIMP AND OR VERMICELLI. THEY SAID THE SHRIMP WAS JUST GRILLED. I WENT TO EAT IN AND ORDERED AND ASKED THE SAME QUESTIONS AGAIN TO MAKE SURE AND ALSO TOLD THEM I DIDN'T LIKE ONIONS AND THE WAITRESS SAID THAT IS ONLY HAD CUCUMBER AND BEAN SPROUTS. I ALSO ORDERED VEGETABLE EGG ROLLS THAT SEEMED LIKE THEY WERE SOMETHING I WOULD BUY IN THE FROZEN FOOD SECTION AT THE GROCERY. THEY SAID THE SAUCE WAS SWEET AND SOUR BUT WHEN I DIPPED MY EGG ROLLS IT WAS OBVIOUSLY A VERY WARM SPICY OIL ALSO MIXED IN WITH THE SWEET AND SOUR, VERY MISLEADING. AFTER EATING THAT I WAS THIRSTY FOR HOURS. WHEN THE SHRIMP VERMICELLI CAME I LOOKED AT THE SHRIMP AND SAID THESE LOOK FRIED BECAUSE THEY LOOKED BATTERED. THE WAITRESS SAID "OH, THAT'S COVERED IN PEANUTS." I TOLD HER I CAN'T EAT PEANUTS SO SHE TOOK THE DISH BACK. A MINUTE LATER SHE CAME BACK TO ASK IF I WAS ALLERGIC TO PEANUTS AND I SAID YES DON'T BRING THE SAME ONES. SHE CAME BACK SOON AND THIS TIME THE SHRIMP LOOKED WET AND NOW THERE WERE CLEARLY SOME SCALLIONS SPRINKLED ON THE SHRIMP. I TOLD HERE I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN TRUST WHAT'S IN THE FOOD NOW AND I CAN'T EAT THIS. I PAID FOR MY EGG ROLLS AND LEFT. I CAN'T TRUST A RESTAURANT THAT WHEN YOU SPECIFICALLY ASK WHAT' S IN IT AND THEY CAN'T DISCLOSE THE ACTUAL INGREDIENTS, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY TO SOME THINGS. FIRST...
