Wow, wish I read the reviews first. A very disappointing dining experience . My daughter and myself show up and there are about three tables were people are seated, so we get in really quick. Our server asks if we would like to go ahead and order our drinks. 2 coffees, 1orange juice and a water please. He brings the drinks out and asks if we need creamer or sweetener. I asked for any kind of artificial sweetener, and he walks away. A couple minutes later he returns and tells me they have none. Great start. We place our order, which took forever. The waiter stopped by the table 3 times, asking how everything, our orange juice and water , were tasting. When he brought out the food, it was somewhere between lukewarm and cold. I passed on the hashbrowns and pancakes for sliced tomatoes and avocado. The avocado was hard and about an eighth of one next to 3 slices of tomato. Needless to say ,most of it is still on the plates. After about 10 minutes of sitting there waiting for the ticket, we watched enough people walk in, wait ,and then finally get tired of waiting and leave, that another table called over one of the employees and pointed it out. When we finally got the check, he sat it on the table and walked away. We waited for a while and then thought, oh, maybe we pay at the front. So we went to the front and waited long enough another customer commented that I may have to go back to the kitchen and get someone myself. Finally someone came out and I pointed out a few extra charges on my bill. They corrected them . The bill came to twenty some odd number. I gave them a 50. They dissapeared into the back and I stood by the door for about 10 more minutes. Finally the waiter comes walking out ,apologizes and hands me , a literal , wad of money. Ones , tens and five in no particular order, and about $2.45 in coins. I said ,"seriously ", and he walked away. I started trying to lay the money out in stacks to put it in order and see how much it was, when another employee came by and asked how everything was. I pointed to the money and pile of change and asked if she would ever hand a customer change like that. She apologized and started to count it and organize it. It was way more than the $50 I had used to pay for the meal. CRAZY!!! I told her about the food and service, she said, if you come back in, ask for her. I told her, I'm sorry, but that probably...
Read moreTragic :( believe the 1 star reviews. Whoever is working in the kitchen literally hates their job and hates people. Period. We went there because today is my son's 4th birthday and he REALLY wanted IHOP (we are traveling from Virginia and in the area for the Dino state park) We ordered 1 meal with specialty pancakes. We chose chocolate chocolate-chip and eggs, hashbrowns, and an UPGRADE to Impossible Sausage. When the food came out the pancakes were NOT chocolate, the server we had was nice and she said we were right that they did NOT put enough chocolate in the batter.....the sausage was GRAY and TOUGH and SPICY and was only 1 piece! She said that was NORMAL and that the "upgrade" is a "downgrade" in sausage from 1 to 2 even though there is a price increase for it. When I tell you we have been to IHOPS all over the country while travelingthe last 5 months......every single one of them gives CHOCOLATELY chocolate-chip pancakes and 2 impossible sausage patties.....when we asked specifically what the sausage was and why it was so tough and tasted like spicy real meat, whoever the jerk was in the kitchen that cooked it sent her back to only say, "We just opened the bag" as if that means ANYTHING to us!? So then we ordered ANOTHER patty because we were splitting the meal between 2 kids so they brought back another spicy tough nasty looking piece of meat. My 4 year old HATES spicy and couldn't eat it......sausage is his favorite part of IHOP :( I was so sad as a mom to see him sad on his birthday. The only thing that cheered him up was the nice waitress brought him a bowl of icecream and had a few people sing to him. The waitress with brown hair with a blonde streak is nice and young and did her best, whoever the owner has in the kitchen NEEDS to be fired! Not giving us the info on whatever brand sausage he gave us is UNACCEPTABLE! Whoever owns this IHOP, please fire them. I was a Director who ran a restaurant in Northern VA for 7 years. How this was handled was unacceptable........The kitchen is the backbone of a restaurant......you...
Read moreI would give zero stars if I could.
A group of my friends and I went to this IHOP after work and we were kindly seated on one side of the building as there were 14 of us. After our waitress, Norma, took our drink order and brought us our drinks, she took our order and left. We never saw her again. We were talked to by the manager about our noise level, but we told him we were very sorry and that we would keep our volume level down. Then another couple came in and was seated in the same section as us, however they got their food shortly after their order was taken, and by then we had been waiting for our food for an hour. One of the girls at our table got up and asked if our food was almost done, only to be told that our order was never put into the computers because Norma thought one of us threw something at her.
We were never told about this by our waitress, and the manager never mentioned it when he came and complained about the noise. They let us sit in the restaurant, doing everything they asked us to do, waiting for our food, for an hour while they didn't even put it in the system.
None of us even knew about the incident happening, and if we had known we all would have sincerely apologized, and Norma would've gotten the at least $40 cash tip we were planning to give her. Once we learned what had happened, one of the girls went and apologized and we went elsewhere to eat dinner.
We will never be going back to this IHOP location, and I urge you to not come here either. This is not how customer service should be handled and problems should be dealt with. If Norma had an issue with us, we should have been told when it happened and we would've resolved it, but instead we had at least an hour and a half of our time wasted, Norma lost an almost $40 cash tip, and this IHOP location lost at least $90 of business and all future business from us and...
