This Afghani restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment the food hit the table, I knew I was in for something special. I ordered the Qabuli mix platter, and it was a feast for the senses. Every element on this dish was bursting with authentic flavor, prepared with incredible care and attention to detail. The real star of the show? The kebabs. They were unbelievably tender, perfectly charred on the outside, and seasoned with a rich blend of spices that lingered deliciously after each bite. Even after bringing home the leftovers, the food remained incredibly aromatic—the kind of scent that fills your kitchen and instantly makes your mouth water. You can truly taste the depth of tradition and passion in every morsel. If you’re looking for a meal that’s both comforting and packed with bold, unforgettable flavor, this place is a must. On top of all that, the staff was also genuinely nice and helpful. They made the experience even better with their warm hospitality and...
Read moreSaffron is an Afghani Cuisine that offers a truly authentic taste of traditional Afghan foods. I loved the huge variety and uniqueness of items offered on the menu! It’s a hidden gem of a place that I’ll be returning to whenever visiting Cleveland.
We started with the Ash soup which was amazingly packed with noodles. It had tasty beef pieces, plums and a yogurt and herb topping. It was so delicious and not to be missed especially on cold days.
We then had the various kabob plates; chicken, beef and lamb. The plates were generously portioned and the meats were both tender and flavorful. Fresh afghan bread was served with these as well as a fresh crisp salad.
The baklava and tea rounded out the full meal. They offer different types of baklava; pistachio, almond, mixed nuts and they also have firni too.
We want to come back and try the Mantu (beef dumplings), signature Kabuli pilau and the saffron tea Very friendly service and the chef is making serious traditional...
Read moreWe were in Cleveland for the day and debated a while about where to go. I'm really glad we were wise enough to choose this one. I was in like a dream state from how delicious it was. The kebabs what perfect, succulent and tender. I loved the kofta and my brother loved the beef kebab. The chicken soup was amazing, an almost Indian-esque flavor. I never heard of mantu before (the little dumplings) but my brother's had it elsewhere and he said this was the best he's had. The perfect rice and I love those carrots, and the braised beef hidden under the rice was so tender and perfect. The ash soup, I didn't like at all, frankly. It tasted strange to me, you lemony and with hidden tooth cracking seeds in it, I think they might have been cherries but not pitted for some reason (just free floating in my SOUP???) so I have to mention that but otherwise it was absolutely...
