I had my graduation party there on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Let me start off my saying THANK YOU to The Aviator for allowing me to host my event here. I shopped around to many restaurants to host my graduation party, The Aviator was by far the most reasonable! When I walked into the room the day of my event EVERYTHING was more then I could've have envisioned. It was so breath taking. I was in such awe seeing how everything came perfectly together. Having my party in the Maria room was a plus because my guest and I were able to enjoy a grand view of the planes flying into the airport.(Time to give praises to the amazing staff who assisted in my event...) My even planner ROULA was so sweet, kind, and attentive to every need of my guest and me. I decided I wanted to do a brunch theme. Roula sat with me and we talked about some of my favorites breakfast/lunch foods. There we sat and put my whole menu together. The thing I love most about Roula is that anytime I was unsure about I wanted she would ask, "Mercy, what do YOU want? This is your event. Tell me and I will try and make it happen." And she did just that! There was nothing I asked for or suggested that she did not fulfill. Roula went over and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and wanted beforehand and during my event. I was very much taken back when she came in on her off day (which was the day of my event) just to oversee the party and to make sure everything ran smoothly. I can't thank her enough! The amazing staff who assisted me with setting up has all my praises as well. KALI, who was my bartender (I hope I spelled that right) was phenomenal! My guest LOVEDDD him. He was such a gem. He was the perfect touch to my party with his jokes and 'out of this world' personality. He was more than attentive to my guest, making sure they had drinks and that they were having a GREAT time! And they were. He even gave a little speech that was heartfelt. Carrie thank you as well, for making sure my guest and I were satisfied. Although, Corey was not there I can't thank him enough for helping me create the idea for my signature drinks. EVERYONE loved them and also the one Kail created on the spot. They were a HIT! The Aviator will definitely be my number choice for hosting any event that I may have in the future. This establishment and staff is top tier. The food was delicious (kudos to the cooks) and the entire ambience of the room didn't go un-noticed by my guest. I got so many compliments. Once again thank you to everyone who played a party in helping with my graduation party. I couldn't have asked for a better place to host my event or better people to assist with it. THANK YOU again the Aviator, Roula, Kali, Carrie, Corey and everyone else. (Of course I didn't get a video or photo of the room before my guest arrived but take my word for it, it...
Read moreTo clarify, we chose to visit the roof top bar location (altitude at the aviator) and did not sit in the main dining area. My wife had been to the main dining area and loved the entire experience. She wanted to sit outside since the weather was unusually gorgeous for an October in Ohio.
With that being said, as we had been walking to the bar location I questioned if they had the same menu, which my wife was sure they did. Upon arriving and getting seated, we learned they do not. The bar location has a very limited overall menu with very limited main entrees compared to the main dining room.
Once seated and looking over the menu, we noticed there was a single staff serving the entire location. As a result, it took well over 15 minutes before we even had water to drink when we arrived. The table next to us had been seated well before us and they also seemed to be waiting for someone to stop by to take their order.
Once the staff stopped by we placed our beverage order and food order. I ended up ordering the aviator pretzels and the cle fish and chips. I was a little hesitant on the fish since it was walleye and not some of the more traditional fried fish (cod/perch/catfish) but it sounded interesting.
It did not take too long for our food order to arrive. The pretzels were disappointingly deep fried by the taste (if not deep fried, significant oil or butter was involved in their preparation) the flavor and dipping sauces were fine but it was not what was expected.
The CLE fish and chips, the chips aspect was solid, the fries were seasoned well and the ketchup provided was artisanal for sure and not your run of the mill Heinz or Sysco bottle. The fish, was deeply disappointing. The flavor profile with the panko breading just was not appetizing to me at all. Drowning the fish in the tarter sauce helped me get at least one of the three pieces I received down but I couldn't do more. My wife tried a bite and immediately spat it out.
The one positive was being able to watch airplanes as they came in for landing at the adjacent Hopkins airport. That helped pass the long stretches of time as we waited at the restaurant.
For us, we will not be visiting the rooftop bar again. I would be interested in trying the main dining area in the future with the larger menu to try other options the restaurant has. Having a single server servicing an entire dining room of dozens of guests was an odd staffing choice. Perhaps the intent is to let people enjoy the alcoholic beverages and eat in a very casual manner but that was not the experience we were looking for and perhaps just...
Read moreOverpriced, subpar food with lack of service. Came here to eat with my parents prior to taking off at the airport. We were not greeted too well when the hostess asked if we had a reservation and seemed like it was an inconvenience to sit us down since we didn’t have one (this was a Tuesday). Since it was nice out we decided to sit on the patio, hostess was leading the way to the table and in passing says “sorry” to the bartender who was going to serve us outside - again seemed like an inconvenience to be there and rude to do that in front of customers. Since we had a timeframe and with the restaurant appearing to be limited on staff we ordered our drinks and appetizer first thing. We then ordered our meals once the drinks were provided. Later on our soups for the lunch special came out and we inquired about the appetizer, the bartender checked and later came back out explaining that there was a mix up in the kitchen when I am sure she forgot to put the order in. Later on our meals arrive but not the appetizer which now didn’t make sense to have it due to lack of space on table and not wanting to eat appetizer with a meal. We told her to cancel it and she gladly said ok. I had some sort of chicken sandwich which was overpowered with bacon rather than chicken, and disappointing enough was the chicken were small strips that looked like it should of been placed in a salad instead, doing this method made the chicken overcooked and not tasty at all. Others at our table got fried chicken sandwiches where the chicken was whole and tasted way better. We grabbed our check and of course the appetizer is on the bill. My dad said it’s still on the bill and the bartender said it shouldn’t be.. ok rude - period. Since it was clearly on the bill, she frustratingly goes back to correct it. Finally got out of there and will never return for last meals before heading back home...
