Stopped in for the first time last Wednesday evening. GMaps indicated it was not busy, but there were no seats at the bar. Sat ourselves as there are 3 entrances but no direction or signage on how to be seated. 5 minutes later, a waitress finally shows up with physical menus after we were already looking at the QR code menu, which they apparently haven't updated in months. They also had their beer list displayed on tvs inside, which was also not accurate. None of the menus matched.
It is obvious this establishment has spent an enormous amount of money on advertising and creating a sports-bar atmosphere. They have more than a dozen TVs inside, but at least half of them were playing advertising for their own restaurant, all of which was very professionally done. Ironically, I have never seen one of these ads on local broadcasts. The few TVs that were not playing ads for the restaurant we were already sitting in were tuned to only two channels: several to golf and one to some off-brand channel that plays curated internet videos. You would think that given the number of people crowding the bar and the high number of screens to choose from that there would be something of value on at least one of them, especially knowing there were baseball and basketball games happening, but you would be mistaken.
Beer choices were basic and poorly described. Asked our waitress about their Platform handle and she had to go ask the bartender to find out what it was. Ended up ordering a standard mixed drink which took a long time to come out and was weak for a double.
Ordered Fried Pickle app, which was a 6/10. Pickles were fine, sauce was extremely runny and they gave us about 3/4 cup of it, which is hugely wasteful. Server never brought napkins or silverware, we had to use the doilies on the appetizer plate as makeshift napkins for our whole stay. Some drink refills and the app were delivered by a food runner, waitress never stopped back to check on food, only to pressure us to order.
Had a couple more drinks (which continued to be weak) then ordered entrees. There are no prices on their menu which is ridiculous. This is a dive bar at best, not a Michelin star restaurant. Mushroom Swiss Burger was mediocre at best - bun was not toasted, no condiments put on it at all, or offered beyond the ketchup already on the table. The burger patty was barely seasoned and lacked the flavors of a well-seasoned grill. Buffalo Blue Wrap made my fiancé sick - twice. She ate half of it that day and half the next and she got physically sick both times. They offer fries and tater tots, both of which are straight out of a freezer bag from Ore-Ida. We did not try the waffle chips, they actually looked like they were made in house unlike everything else.
When we asked for the bill was the only time our waitress ever showed a hint of excitement. She completely lacked any niceties otherwise. That bill, after a few drinks, one appetizer and two entrees, was OVER $100. This is why they do not list their prices on their menu: it is a complete rip-off. Most of what we ate was not made in house, it came frozen from GFS and is not worth the money we paid.
We will not be back, especially given a very basic wrap came back up TWICE after my fiancé gave it a second shot. Service was poor, food was worse. Atmosphere was the best thing about this place, and even that was severly lacking. It's amazing this place has stayed in business since 2011 if this has been their business model. Do not waste your...
Read moreNew to the area, and every time I’ve driven past this place it’s been busy, so I decided to give it a try. My first stop was around 2 pm on a Wednesday. The place was about half full. We waited at the door for a while and nobody greeted us. I walked up to the bar and waited for the bartender to acknowledge me. After almost 10 minutes I was ready to leave, but she finally came over and told us to sit anywhere. After about 10 more minutes a server finally came to the table. We ordered 2 burgers medium, a tall beer, and a soda. It took about 30 minutes to get our food, and both burgers were cooked well done. The food was good enough considering the burgers were overcooked, and all said and done the meal was a little over 50 bucks after tip. I really wanted to like this place, so I stopped in today by myself. It was about 4pm on a Sunday, and once again it was about half full. I sat at the bar and waited for the bartender to acknowledge me. Once again it took about 10 minutes. I ordered a tall beer and a pepperoni and onion pizza to go. After about 40 minutes I asked about the pizza, and the bartender said that it was almost ready. About 10 minutes later she came out and said that the kitchen had made my pizza a pepperoni and olive by mistake. She asked if I wanted it, or did I want to wait for another. I had already been waiting almost an hour, so I asked her to cancel it, as I wasn’t willing to wait for another. She apologized, but did not offer to comp my beer or anything else. That was two bad experiences in as many weeks, so I will not be back, and I will definitely tell all of my union brothers about my 2 bad experiences here. Too bad, as I was really hoping to like this place. There’s just too many other places in the area where I can...
Read moreFirst, food is pretty good. And the bar is very lively. Certain ownership does very well financially. For now.... They receive a poor review because an employee in the restaurant stole my credit card. It started with me stopping by the restaurant, since it was near the airport. This was not my first visit. I am in Cleveland regularly. This time, I mistakenly left my credit card behind. It wasn’t returned to me when I signed the credit card slip. And I just missed it. When I called to ask if they had my card, they did. So I requested they ship me the card. I was informed that would be against management policy. When I offered to have a local colleague pick up the card, I was told that too was against policy. I would have to pickup the card myself. All of these policies were ultimately to protect me. Well, a week later and my card is being used all over Cleveland. I alerted management as soon as I saw the charges. Initially, they seemed concerned. They promised to investigate and follow back up with me. Four days later, nothing. So I message to ask for an update. No response. Then nine days later, I again request an update. This time, the owner, Jim Page, responds. He says his investigation came up empty. He did release an employee that had a suspicious explanation. He had just been too busy to follow-up with me. Said their restaurant has been very busy, plus he’s opening another. I guess that’s something a customer should just understand. Hard to imagine that something like identify theft and stealing a customer’s money could be taken so lightly. But it was. Imagine this busy restaurant believes they’re too big to fail. I won’t return. If you do, DON’T PAY BY...
