I've been a customer of Golden Kitchen since it opened. The lady who makes the soup and usually runs the cash register is very nice and good at what she does. The so called "Chef" on the other hand, he truly should be deported for the brass unwavering insults I've been pretty too! The Chef absolutely positively won't deviate from the menu or even do something that seems menial to me ((like cutting one dish off the menu (I can't remember which one) into smaller pieces than usual.)) Even for more money, he told me no way. So that particular day I took my $80 order to a different restaurant because he refused to accommodate me for the one dish, no matter what. God Help you if you get a meal prepared by him that is absolutely inedible! He'll insult you in his extremely poor broken English then charge you for the privilege of his insults! For instance, I myself think that I'm fairly tolerant of spicy dishes, I usually enjoy them. I went to a Japanese restaurant once and the kitchen staff all came out and surrounded our table because I would spread the wasabi like cream cheese on my sushi, tastes good to me! Well I purchased General tso's Chicken one night recently. This dish was so freaking hot that I couldn't taste anything but the burning on my tongue! I called and the so called "Chef" happened to answer the phone. I explain that I had just left the store not 15 minutes prior and recited the dishes I ordered. I tried to explain to him how spicy hot the General Tso chicken dish was and could he suggest a way for me to douse the fire?, so to speak. (I actually said, "is there anything I can do at this point to take some of the spiciness down?) Honest to Goodness this man started yelling at me! He says, it's supposed to be spicy!!!!!" I said, "I know, I've eaten this dish many many times from other restaurants and I've never had a problem! But this dish is sooo spicy I can't eat it! It's just entirely too spicy, what can I do to help calm down the spiciness?" He replies, (VERY LOUDLY!) "YOU PAY YOU PAY IF YOU WANT ANOTHER DISH, YOU PAY!!!! ITS SUPPOSED TO BE SPICY, 🥵 YOU PAY!!" I said, "I didn't ask you to make it again you @$$#0!& I ASKED you to suggest a way to tame it down!" At which point I hung up! Talk about never revisiting a restaurant? I wanted to take signs and paste them all over the window of the restaurant right there on Springfield road! It's not the fact that the dish was too hot, it's the unprofessional unexcusable way this man spoke to me, it was completely uncalled for! It can't even be said that, "oh, maybe he just got caught on a bad night? That can happen! But in this case it's NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS MAN SCREAMED AT ME OVER SOMETHING THAT REALLY SHOULDN'T REQUIRE THAT KIND OF RESPONSE! IF THERE WAS A PLACE TO REPORT THE WAY A MERCHANT TREATS THEIR CUSTOMERS AND IT COULD AFFECT HIS BUSINESS, I'D DO IT!!! OH, WAIT! I...
Read moreWe’re new to this neighborhood, so we’re on the search for our go-to Chinese takeout spot. Unfortunately, we’ll still be searching because this food was a huge disappointment. I read a lot of the reviews, the good and the bad, and decided the good outweighed the bad. The food was promptly ready and the temperature was fine, but the quality and taste was extremely lacking. The scallion pancakes were incredibly greasy, the crab rangoon had an off-putting taste and texture, the lo-mein was bland, the texture of the sesame chicken was terrible and it was mostly just stale breading (the little bit that was actually chicken in there was mushy), and lastly the wonton soup was bland and the wonton texture was not at all pleasant. I don’t expect Chinese takeout to be the most mind blowing thing I’ve ever tasted, but I do expect the food to at...
Read moreMy family and I order from Golden Kitchen for Friday movie nights. The staff are always welcoming and kind. Ordering online makes things very simple. My order is always correct and the portions are generous. I love the menu and the fact that there are some more traditional Chinese -American options but also some great Thai dishes as well . The shrimp egg roles, lo mein, Mongolian beef, and walnut chicken are some of my personal favorites. My only suggestion would be to spice things a little more, especially the times listed as spicy. I often request that my dishes are "Spicy please! :)"to get my order just right. Also, more pineapple in the pineapple chicken because otherwise its deceiving to receive a dish called "Thai Pineapple " but have no actual pieces of pineapple in it. Thanks for always giving us full and...
