Chelsea's Restaurant & Pub — Restaurant in Clinton Township

I was so looking forward to trying Chelsea’s for their Wings. They claim on their sign out front they are award winning and the best wings in Hunterdon county. NOT EVEN CLOSE! This was my first time here and I noticed they were very short staffed. There was quite a few of us waiting in the hallway for someone to come out and seat us or take our names. We waited a good 15-20 minutes before the hostess came out. The restaurant had quite a few empty tables. Once seated, our server John was very pleasant. He took our drink order and our drinks were very good. We then put in an order for 2 French Onion Soups. The French Onion Soup was very good. It had lots of flavor and was piping hot the way I like it. We then put in our order for 10 Buffalo Wings Medium heat, and 2 orders of their Basket of Fried Chicken. Our Basket of Fried Chicken came out first. It too was very good and cooked correctly. We were halfway through our meal and I asked John our server where our wings were. He said he would go check on it. It took another 10 minutes to get the wings. My bf took a bite, then I took a bite. We both noticed that the wings were very dry, chewy and overcooked. The buffalo sauce was supposed to be medium hot and it tasted very watered down nothing close to what a buffalo wing should be. We were both so very disappointed and decided not to eat the wings or take them home. THEY WERE THAT BAD! We brought this to John our servers attention. His comment was “next time you come back we’ll try and make the wings better.”The wings were not even large, just average in size. Totally not worth it. He never offered to take it off our bill. Overall bad experience. First off, the music outside was wayyyy too loud, it was a dj blasting for 3 older people sitting outside. Very incosistent because the waitresses kept coming in and out so it would be slightly quiet and then they'd slide open the door and BOOM it was loud again. The bathroom STUNK of marijuana and the soap didn't smell good either. The service was super slow and they didn't have enough menus. When I asked I was told to go to their site, but I told them I needed the guest wifi password and the lady looked at me as if I had two heads. Still never got the wifi password for the GUEST wifi. The waitress was new, but kept messing up like she didn't know the menu at all. Food was disgusting and cold. The waitress wouldn't check on us and any time she did she would say she was just about to put our order in...that happened several times. In the end we didn't feel like waiting around and walked upfront with who I assume was the owner just shoving the check at my mother and flipping out at my mom about how hard it all is cause of COVID, but honestly they've always had bad service.
