Overpriced meal in an outdated restaurant with poor service. I ordered a medium steak (which comes sliced) with a zip butter sauce. They served it to me purple, rare would have been okay. I tried eating it, couldn’t stomach it. Waitress finally comes by, I tell her (and show her). She stared at me blankly for what seemed like minutes, then asked me “so... you wanna like, have them recook it then!?”.
Well, I don’t want to eat raw meat, so that’d be appreciated. 10 minutes later my food comes back out, the same food, recooked in what you could tell was a sauté pan with oil. All the flavor was washed away by the oil. I’m left with sliced up, soggy, now well done meat (again, wanted medium) slithering around on a plate with soggy root vegetables.
I’m not one to make a scene, and I’m no longer appetized by this mess I had in front of me. I’ve already gone through the trouble of watching my wife eat while I waited. Now, you’d think if you saw your guest not eat another two bites of a meal you’ve failed cooking twice, you’d have a manager stop by or offer a comp. Nothing, not a thing done.
Regardless, my wife wanted dessert, we were out celebrating good news. Since I hadn’t eaten all but a salad, sure. We decided on chocolate lava cake. It’s horrible, too. CLEARLY a microwaved, frozen cake. Still tasted like freezer when it was served. First time in 8 years with my wife we didn’t finish a dessert.
The staff and appearance of the inside of the restaurant is something straight from Kitchen Nightmares. There’s a manager guy that paces and haunts the shop but doesn’t say anything to customers (tried talking to him, small talk while waiting at the door. Looked me dead in the eye and walked away). He does bark orders at the hostess though.
I can’t say I’ll be back. Pretty disgusted all round. This place won’t be open...
Read moreYou need to bring your price back down to$30- $35 a person! We love Ernie's buffet every thanksgiving, our family goes every year. Unfortunately the main smashes were lacking as the turkey was a bit dry, the gravy had no flavor like it was heated straight out of a can and the stuffing was wet and mushy not fluffy at all which was disappointing. The potatoes were okay. The salad table was very good and so was desert which I barely could stuff in. It's an all you can eat affair and it's not cheap. $50 for each person! The fact is NObody can eat ALL they want much less $50 worth of food because the human stomach will not allow that. Instead of forcing everyone to over eat and possibly get sick from doing so what would be the harm in letting each person take home a medium carryout with their choice of contents. Part of the fun of Thanksgiving is eating leftovers and I can promise the cost you are charging will cover a small carryout container of food for each person. I did not appreciate being told that I could not take home my left over turkey, ham and stuffing that was already on my plate because I was already full and could not eat my moneys worth. Every year this happens, it's like welcome, welcome. Then it's like sorry but just throw away the rest of your food! Please make some customer friendly changes for the end of the buffet meal time or we will just be doing a restaurant meal next time if they don't get real. Even when I eat a regular meal out at Ernie's which is usually more food than I eat at the buffet I still get to take home...
Read moreWe ordered 6 burgers from here, to go. This is not our first time. Usually we have no issues. This time we had guests over and we ordered for all. We picked up the food and when we got home couple of people wanted to cut the burger in half. When they did they found the burgers to be raw in the middle. When the rest of the people saw this they also cut their burgers in half. All the burgers we got were raw in the middle. We requested the burgers to be well done. No one wanted to take the risk and eat these burgers. They clearly were not. So we had to quickly order pizza for our guests. When we called to complain that same night the person that talked to us said there is nothing they can do for us and to call tomorrow when the owner was there. We called the following day and one of the owners told us that we should have brought the food back and he would give us $30.00 credit on the next purchase. Our order was about $140 (included a tip). So we told them they can keep the $30, we will write this review and never go there again. The people that run this place do not care about the customer. It shows in they way they talked to us. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I understand that mistakes can happen, but if you do not take responsibility for what you sell to people and correct your mistake then you are no good. Trust me do not go to this place it is...
