Edit July 15th. Changed from 3 to 5 stars due to Olgas responding here so quickly. They are legendary for sure! I don't feel right knocking stars for one visit )out of perhaps 500) that didn't fare well. They get 5 stars again! July 7th, 4pm. I don't know what happened. Overwhelmed server. Another customer complained as I did. I ordered an olga, no sauce, extra meat, add cheese. I have never ordered any other way in 39 years, not once. My wife was finished eating her soup and salad before my olga arrived. It had no cheese and covered with sauce. Sent back...waited...waited...wife done eating and staring out the window.
Server stops and says, "Everything ok you two?". I said, "no...still waiting on my fixed olga, lol"! She politely said she will check. No "thank you" or sad face...just left to check. Came back no sauce but no cheese. I gave up. I had eaten a salad and offered to pay.
The manager was involved at this point and he was A++++. Not for comp'ing my food (wife included) but he diffused two customers upset at the same time. He was calm, cool and collective! Great manager, don't lose him! Olgas food and service has not let me down once until today...that is a long time since 1986. Lakeside, Troy, Saint Clair Shores, New Baltimore, Casino, etc. Never an issue. Below is my review for the Garfield location 3 years ago. I had to delete it to post my updated review. Olgas is legendary...my server and kitchen had a bad day I guess:(
3 years ago 3 years ago Sunday lunch for two, my wife and I. Salads fresh and perfect. Original Olgas perfect, moist meat with fresh pita bread. They were out of Peasant soup that my wife enjoys but the cream of broccoli was just as good she said. Server was friendly and made no mistakes. Table, aisles and bathroom were clean so no issues there. It was a great visit...we used to frequent the Harper location up until it closed...so it is nice to receive the same degree of excellence from a different location:)
Ty for reading our review:) Olga's Kitchen (Owner) 3 years ago Richard, thank you so very much for taking the time to give us this stellar review! I am thrilled to see that you enjoyed your...
Read moreI love Olga’s, have been dining since Olga herself ran things, I usually dine at the chesterfield location as it’s close to my work and always have a great experience there, however this location I was not impressed. Dined in on Saturday evening around 7 , only about 5 tables in the restaurant. Employees standing around talking, laughing, ignoring all customers coming in and barely servicing the few tables that they had, 3 employees walked past us as we waited to be seated and ignored us until finally a 4th employee sat us. The Man that was working which I assume was the manager or owner dressed in regular clothes spent most of his time in the back , the only time I seen him out front was when he was hanging out with the employees laughing and talking, Seems that he cared more about having a good time with the young ladies then he did about taking care of customers. We watched as one lady stood at the door for several minutes before finally leaving. Several times throughout our dining I could see all the servers in some room off the dining area doing what looked like taking pictures of themselves on their cell phones. Our server was extremely slow, being a server myself for 40 plus years I don’t understand why our drinks took about 5 minutes to get back to us, you put ice in a cup fill it up with soda and walk it out to the table, not hard to do. It took a long time for my salad and my husbands soup almost close to ten minutes after our order was placed. It took another twenty minutes after that to receive our food , which was not very good either but we managed to eat it. I will continue to eat at Olga’s as I said I enjoy the food but I will not visit this particular location. You should think about getting a manager that cares about customers and business and less about flirting with young girls and having a good time. Maybe get some waitresses that actually want to wait on tables instead of posing for pictures on their cell phones and hanging out ignoring customers. It’s a place of business not...
Read moreI visited this restaurant yesterday and my experience was extremely disappointing but unfortunately common. I walked in and stood at the host stand to get a dine in table. A waitress told me someone would be right with me. I waited at least 8 minutes while at least three waitresses entered and exited the kitchen, which takes them right past the host stand and me. I was the only potential customer standing in the lobby during this time. Then, another customer came in to pick up a carry out order. The staff person came from the back to help him and never said anything to me. She went to the back to retrieve his order. In the meantime, wait staff walked by me 4 additional times without seating me at a table. I then stopped one on the 5th attempt to ignore me and asked for the manager. The manager came from the back and approached the man who had already been helped to ask him how can he help. This customer who had already been helped informed the manager that he didn't ask for him. I flagged the manager down, all while standing directly in front of the host stand. I explained to the manager everything that I wrote here and suggested that he train his staff. I also highlighted that he did the same thing his staff did. He showed preferential treatment towards the other customer over me. I never received service, I was ignored, and I was treated as I was invisible by the staff and the manager as the icing on the cake. To whoever is replying to reviews, there is no need to reply. Do not attempt to contact me. I don't want or need any discounted meals from you. I only suggest you improve your staff training and yourself in the area of serving customers fairly and equitably. I hope customers who read this make wise decisions about where to spend your money and do so where you are seen and valued. I can only assume why the other customer who came in after me got prompt service from staff and the manager. That's not for me to share but I shared only the...
