We went for lunch on New Year’s Day. We were greeted quickly and told we could sit anywhere we’d like. Our server was very friendly, but I’m sorry I don’t remember his name. The dining room was quite dark and very cold. We didn’t take our jackets off for the entire meal. Unfortunately the food (aside from the margarita pizza) left much to be desired. We were brought bread that tasted stale. We asked for a second serving of bread later on but that bread was also stale. We split the caprese appetizer and this was the most disappointing part of our meal. The sliced tomatoes were not ripe at all and they were more white in color than red. The textile was also crunchy :( $16 for unripe tomatoes felt like a huge ripoff and this should never have been served in the first place. We also split a margarita pie and the crust was perfectly crispy. If we return we will probably just order pizza for takeout. Another table ordered the meatballs appetizer and this looked much better than the caprese, so maybe the meatballs were the better choice! Thanks...
Read morePerhaps the most bland and over priced pizza I've had in my life. Walking in was like watching one of those TV shows where Gordon Ramsay visits a failing restaurant. The place is nearly pitch black inside. Not in an atmospheric or creating ambiance kind of way either. There was only one pair of customers sitting at a booth while the owner loomed over them, yammering away. In the right corner of the place were some sad, empty, unused display cases piled up like they belonged next to the dumpster out back. The pizza I ordered was bland and had almost no sauce on it, a cheap move for cutting costs, (just like keeping the lights off) and had absolutely nothing gourmet about it. If a place that has "Gourmet Pizza" in its name cant even make a half decent plain pie I cant imagine they're good for much else. Would've rather had a fake pizza...
Read moreETA: we've been huge fans of Pino's for many years. We moved out of state and make a point of visiting every time we're in town. Tonight I ordered a plain pizza & the Arugula Salad with Salmon & was charged $48. The addition of Salmon is now $15 (it was $8), making it a $26 salad & a $22 plain pizza. I was floored.
Pino, if you read this, it breaks my heart to leave this review, but the staff tonight was new, chaotic, and handled everything from answering the phone (no business name, just hello & what do you want]) poorly. We left without the food, my elderly mother couldn't afford it & she was treating. I'm afraid this may have been the last visit for us.
Great food! Everything is fresh & delicious. The owner is a great guy who will make sure you have a...
