I rate this Sandwich Shop 5 stars. Patience when reading this 5 star review. It was a great experience and one I felt compelled to share with the public. I stopped in during breakfast hours (they serve breakfast and lunch). I originally drove by to drive to McDonald's for a quick bite.. I saw a Special posted outside the business of Ham and Cheese Omelet, Homefries and Toast for $5.00. Knowing my budget that day of a 5 dollar bill. Because I knew at McDonald's I'd barely get a Bacon, Egg and Cheese biscuit for the same price I decide to stop in and order the special "to-go". I walked inside and saw senior "regulars" sitting on the side tables. I sat at the counter, The waitress came right over. Offered me coffee. I placed my order. As I waited I saw a small sign at the register that said "We Accept Cash Only". Immediately I let the waitress know I would not be having coffee as I only brought the $5.00. Let me tell you how down to Earth this place is. The cook is the owner. The waitress is a sweetheart. She tells me "oh, don't worry about it, I will take care of it". She made me feel welcomed and not some bum who couldn't afford coffee with my meal. It's probably safe to say we've all been there before. Realizing that after paying mortgage, electricity, weekly child support, insurance, that at the end of the week we feel tight with money. I stopped in for the special I had money for, but when offered the coffee then realizing I did not have enough to cover. I let the waitress know I would not be having the coffee. For this angel to tell me "Don't worry about it, she would take care of it" helps restore your faith in humanity, in society and in good hearted Clintonian folks. I received my order, ate and enjoyed my meal calmly thanks to the wonderful waitress at John's Sandwich Shop. Thank you for being a genuine soul and for providing us with your delicious food and supperb speedy customer service. I am a blue collar worker, who is always on time with bills and when I have the means and I'm always known for leaving excellent tips. I will be returning to this spot with my friemds and we'll all be...
Read moreI wanted a quick and easy breakfast and opted to stop by based off a recommendation from a friend. Its looks pretty much sum it up. It’s a local joint with real food at reasonable prices. There’s a lot of puzzles lining the walls which is pretty cool. Speaking of pretty cool the family the runs the joint were very friendly and down to earth. Everyone that stopped in made the place feel more like a big family. I wish I took some pictures but I was too busy enjoying talking with John and his sister while my wife and I enjoyed the food and coffee. We’ll...
Read moreI'm a little confused about all the five star reviews. Maybe this place is better known for their breakfast, but we came here at 12:30 on a Friday for lunch and I got what ended up being a very disappointing chicken sandwich. Reminded me of a school lunch patty. I will give it to them - the steak and cheese was good, and the staff was quite friendly. But the menu was limited, and cash only is always a less-than-pleasant surprise. Even the air pump at the gas station down the street takes...
