I can't comment on the quality of the food, this was my first time having Mediterranean food so, honestly, I'm not sure if it was good or not. I will comment on the experience. We went during lunchtime on a week day. One person was picking up an order when we came in and one was picking up when we left. Other than that there were no other patrons. Other reviews rave about the cleanliness, to us it was "acceptable". Certainly not as bad as I've seen in restaurants but nothing I'd gush over. When we arrived a gentleman seated us and probably spoke a total of 10 words the entire time we were there. We were never offered drinks, not even a glass of water. He came over, mumbled something about soup which we accepted. It was supposedly lentil soup but tasted more like Lipten Cup-a-Soup with lentils added to it. The only comment I can make of the food in general was it tasted very salty. The rest of the time he simply sat behind a far away counter (not even in view of us to see how we were doing) watching things on a tablet. When we were done I had to hunt him down to pay, he never brought a bill. Based on the experience, we will not...
Read moreThis is a buffet-type, Middle Eastern themed restaurant. Moderately sized, the decor is modest but very tasteful, feeling more like home than a place of business. The place was very clean. Service is limited but friendly; during our visit the only staff were the couple who own the place; this is not really important as, being a buffet restaurant, you serve yourself. The food was a very welcome surprise. It was delicious - much better than expected, with a genuine taste and a distinct homemade quality, with good variety, with beef, lamb, chicken and fish-based dishes available, as well as assorted vegetables. Desserts are typically Middle Eastern, though we liked the fact that they were somewhat less overpoweringly sweet than most commercially available ones. Drinks are limited to bottled soft drinks and juices from a fridge. This is a great place for a casual meal with the family or with friends. Definitely worth...
Read moreI highly recommend Zaytoon because of their marvelous food. I have indulged in their weekend buffet several times now and each time has been a smash hit. The only reason I have not given it five stars is because I don't know much about their regular table service. The staff is polite and helpful for the buffet. They offer a wide variety of their dishes and there are at least a couple dozen things on offer. They include their main dishes as well as vegetable side dishes and an entire table of excellent dips, salads and pickles. There is always bread and rice, soup and tea. There are soft drinks, but no alcoholic drinks. It's a very clean, well-lighted place and it's decorated with lovely art and textiles. Kabobs, schwarma, biryani, sandwiches and the essential baklawa are ready and...
