I was so disappointed with our experience tonight. We went there for a friends birthday and only 4 out of 11 of us had more than one drink with food. After we ate went to the bowling alley next door and when we went to order more drinks the GM told us we could only order two drinks (one in each hand) but were more than welcomed to come back to order more. When we went to order more the GM told us that we were cut off because they were uncomfortable with serving us more because we were clearly drunk, which the drink I ordered and the birthday girl ordered we didn't even taste any alcohol and felt fine after 2 drinks. We weren't loud or nothing. Us girls were taking selfies while the guys bowled, if that's acting drunk then i guess we were plastered. My husband had one Blonde Ale since he was the DD for us and we live on base and when he went to get another beer the GM told him the whole group was cut off and he was clearly drunk because he was slurring his words... which he wasn't because he had ONE beer with food at that. Absolutely ridiculous experience and super disappointed. As a manager of a restaurant and past employee from a bar you don't cut everyone in a group of people off from drinking. You're losing business by doing that. And if the GM was so worried and uncomfortable for serving us then why wasn't he so worried of us drinking and driving. Never again and will be telling other spouses of our experience and thank you for ruining our friends birthday and child...

I have been to Red Door’s Taproom in Clovis twice before, as well as their ABQ locations multiple times. They are among my fave beers out of the Duke City. It’s nice to have relatively easy access to these brews only 80 miles from my home in the Texas Panhandle.

I love the vibe of this taproom, as it is the food and beverage appendage of a bowling alley, an establishment that simply must have sustenance readily available. I have sat at this bar and imbibed on numerous froths from the Red Door collection.

My only concern is that, while my brews this visit were certainly good, I learned that they now have a hard time actually getting Red Door beers, which are now apparently contract-brewed by Rio Bravo in ABQ. According to my server, they are lucky to ever have two Red Door beers at any given time. And so I quaffed my Red Door IPA, but then had to settle, if you will, for a hazy IPA from Santa Fe Brewing Company. Now, not to throw shade of that great brewery, it’s just that to round out their tap list, they have had to stir in brews made by others.

All of which goes to say that the Red Door Taproom in Clovis has basically become a more generic taproom, with brews from numerous breweries. The beers are all good and that, but I suspect the days are numbered for this establishment to be named Red Door, especially with so little Red Door product.

And that’s sad, because I like this place! I just want more Red Door Beer, regardless of whomever is brewing it for them....

Terrible service. I shouldn’t have to ask for ranch three separate times and never receive it. The GM cut our whole group off from drinking and we only had a couple of drinks each. I had one beer myself and when I queried the GM as to why he cut our group off from drinking, he proceeded to state that he noticed people in the group that were drunk. I explained to him that no one in our group was drunk and that I only had one beer. He said that I was clearly drunk because I was slurring my words and that I didn’t need anymore alcohol. That GM needs to be fired!!!! I’d recommend Bandolero’s Brewery as an awesome alternative!!!

And to the owners response, I understand where you are coming from, but we were all being responsible and no one was showing signs of intoxication prior to coming to your illustrious establishment. Out of our large party, we even found multiple drinks to have zero alcohol. Terrible terrible service!!!!! And it’s quite sad that you stand behind such rude individuals (your staff). Maybe if you were there and witnessed how each and every single one of them (besides the gentleman that originally served us) treated us, you would have been in shock!!! We were doing nothing wrong, and as I have stated along with my wife, very few of us drank and if we did, we only had a couple of beverages. I for one will never come back and will tell everyone I know to stay clear of such a poorly...

I’m a craft beer person, so I get excited anytime I find a place to eat with the words “Brewing Company” in the name. A friend and I came here at the end of a 12-hour day driving, and we both were ready for a cold one straight from the tap. There as NO BEER ON TAP. Whaaaaat?? Yeah, a handful of types of canned beer but none on tap. That’s just plain wrong. It wasn’t the fault of the one server on duty, since she had her hands full, but it took forever to get menus, water, beer, the bill, etc. My friend got a burger and thought it was ok. I got a salad with lettuce, chicken, pecans, strawberries, and cheese crumbles which could have been delicious, but the too sweet dressing was over everything and completely overpowered it. It was the kind of plate where all the ingredients are in separate piles and you have to mix it yourself. That meant I couldn’t get a single bite that wasn’t ruined by the cloyingly sweet dressing. I picked out the chicken and pecans and left the rest. A waste. The atmosphere: very dark room with a bar to the left, filled with people playing trivia. Through a nearby door, a bowling alley, with all its usual noise. The whole thing was the opposite of what I expected, wanted, needed. Weird. Disappointing.

Good beer... good food... good folks... and a bit of drama... what more could you ask for? Oh and you can bowl or play pool. If I’m ever in the area again I will be stopping by. (FYI... drama was a little drunkenly argument amongst a couple)
